well, im mostly a 2d game creator and now im wanting to start creating 3d games. right now i have 3d world studio and that it. i need to get a program that can import the .3dw files. i also need to find a program for simple character creation. thanks for the help.

TGC has AC3D for you to make simple characters.

Have you checked out Milkshape? It's only $25, and has more import/export formats than most anything out there; it's also great for low-poly (simple character) work, with animation. Here's a small list I started compiling awhile back:

3D Modelers

Anim8or is missing from the list; but is a very good (free) modeler as well.

Welcome, Keith has a good list there, if you have any problems or issues, this part of the forum is good, although some of us my be slow to reply and even slower to offer the solution at certain times. Normally if I see a post falling or not getting the right responses, even if not in my knowledge I usually try my best to help.

As you're a new 3D modeller, well I have to sell myself with my relatively new website and point you in the direction of my tutorials (As my tutorials are general, you will obviously need to understand the terminology and generally how your program works and which of the terminology/tools it has)
