I don't think that's what he meant smoke. Try FRAPS (google it), it's able to take a video of your game while you play it, run the finished video through Windows Movie Maker to make the file size smaller and you'll end up with a movie trailer for your game.

That is what you're asking isn't it?

Instead of using Fraps, I really do recommend using Screen Recorder Gold instead, http://www.capture-screen.com/ It's less heavy then Fraps, so your framerate when capturing isn't influenced to much.

You can download it for free, you only get a little text on top of your video, showing that you haven't used the registered it. But that's the same with Fraps.

Fraps is alright but as someone said the video files are rather large.

You can use Windows Movie Maker to convert the fraps files to .wmv.
Also,I believe the full version of Fraps has more compression options for your videos.
