I searched for moving lights, because I was wondering about search lights in a prison or high security area. This is what I found to be posted by Lee, and it is quite old:
Quote: "I have not tested moving the entity that is also a light, though if you cannot then you ought to be able to. For now it was not a suggested feature, will be added as a suggestion for V1 if someone gets onto our internal bug base and posts it!"
Is there any way of making lights move for search lights? If so I cannot seem to find it. Anyone else know or even interested?

I've tried to do so, but without succes.

I've tried to turn objects into lights, by adding this part to an objects properties:
;Light Extras
lightcolor = -16776961
lightrange = 200

That gave a crash.....

Then I did try the actions given in the manual, lighton, lightrange, lightgreen and so on.

When using lighton, everything is fine. When trying to use lightrange and/or the light colors actions, I do get a crash.

Ben, it'll result in a crash unless you also include the line
"ismarker=1"
in the FPE.

But doing that means that the entity won't show up in game.

I know.... the whole idea was to get a visible object posing as a lightsource, but that doesn't seem to work at all.

search lights are possible, by running a flat floor lit decal from an invisible entity, that moves along a set path.

Good idea! It's a workaround and not the real thing, but still would give a good searchlight impression.
