Been a while since I've posted anything, so here is a highpoly assassin character which I will be doing a normal map from once its textured and i've got some more detail on it using displacement map. I'm trying to learn 3d studio max, so I made a thing out of not using any claytools for this. Just to try it out.

comments are very welcome.

Excellent work right there, whats the polycount so far?
What displace ment do you intend to use?Chain mail, leather or plate would look pretty good.
best rolfy.

BTW, check out the polyboost toolset, after paying for max it's not costing much more to increase your workflow with this.

Looks really great so far. His upper thighs look a little skinny and wimpy though, especially in that first pic, maybe add a little more meat to them? Is he naked from the waist down (other than the boots)?

Nice work on the folds, especially if it's all max. I also recommend the Polyboost plugin, it's great for all sorts of stuff, especially the loop tools for doing high poly.

Hello everyone. Thanks for the comments. I bought polyBoost a while back, and would have a hard time modeling this without it, or atleast it would have taken three times the time. The polycount isnt important at this point as it is highpoly, but the lowpoly version will be taked donwn to around 4000polygons once its done. I'm also gonna play around with the highpoly mesh and render it out with animation, just to test that out as well. You're indeed right Bond1 the model mesh part of the model isnt quite done yet, I need to add lases to the boots, glove the hands, and finish dressing him from the waist to the knee.

It looks excellent except for what has already been pointed out (low detail on upper body, etc.) I like the way the hood looks, and it'll be interesting to see what the normal map looks like.

I'm not paranoid. Stop thinking that I'm paranoid!

Super! THis is really really good looking artwork here. I love hoods on characters -- mysterious rulz.

BTW... are you treating the hood as a flat object like a cloth of plains that are non-culled, or does it have depth?
