I bought Treemagik G3 a couple of weeks ago, and everything was working fine. All of a sudden, though, when I go to the leaf texturing page it throws up an error window that says, "Memory access violation," an has an "OK" button. Press the button and it kills the program.

Anybody run into this before or have a fix?

Thanks,

Have you been trying to take/put a texture from/in the texture directory of treemagik? Because that happened to me. I just made backups of my projects and re-installed the software.

Yeah I even totally uninstalled and deleted folders. Then re-installed. It's quite odd how it was working perfectly and then all of the sudden stops. I didn't install anything from the time it was working until it stopped either.

[edit] I sent a message to support, but they usually have a couple of days backlog. I'll let you know what they say.

I am sure I remember this happening before to some guy in support, and it took us ages to figure it out - but what happened was that he browsed the textures folder using Windows Explorer, and it created a Thumbs.db file in there automatically (like it does) and it was this file that caused Treemagik to crash when you next viewed the textures folder with it in.

So try deleting this file if it exists (you may need to modify your Folder Options to get it to display in the first place, as it's a System File).

Good luck anyway!

Yeah. We wrote a bat file to delete the Thumbs.db in all the image folders. That way Windows doesn't keep remaking it right after you delete it. I'll post the file contents when I get home. It would be nice it the program automatically done this if the file exists though.

[edit] Bat file contains (may need to change paths for your installation):

I have the same problem but delete the thumb files doesn't solve the problem in my case...
Strangely I've tried the programs (TreeMagik G3, G2 and Plantlife) on Windows Vista (on the same PC) and all works well...
But i need to use them on XP Pro.
I'm a bit disappointed since trying the demo versions I was having the same problem and contacting the presale support they say me that was a problem only in the demo versions and the full versions weren't affect by the same problem...
I've waited for a while and finally bought the programs but now found that the problem is the same.
I hope they will have a solution for the problem or I definitely want back my money, I don't wanna waste 100 $ !

(to be or not to be ...serious LOL!)
