Hi all, anyone used DarkShader with the GDK yet ? Your thoughts ?

I am thinking of possibly shelving out for it. Just want to hear from you all first.

I currently have Dark GDK, and am thinking of getting GDK.net along with this.

I'm also musing with the idea of buying both things (DarkShader and the GDK.Net) so I'd also be interested in knowing how Shader is behaving with both the GDK's.

Which reminds me that Rick hasn't made public the cross-grade GDK->GDK.Net path/price... must ping him again this week.

I have vague plans for World Domination

Yep, I'm interested too.

I guess that saying,

The first one to buy please post here results!

Is a little bit risky for that one (well only 27 Eur, but risky anyway).

Since DBPro 6.4 is required for DarkShader, we have no guarantee at this point that all shaders will work until the GDK update is finished.

Shaders that require the ShaderData dll (fulscreen shaders) do not currently work with the GDK, my tests with object shaders such as rainbow.dbs do work.

We would like to add support for the GDK so watch this space.

Ok if you do some thing to enable the shaders to work correctly with the GDK please do it quickly because the discounted price will only last until the end of February and that will be a shame to get penalized for it.

But I am not going to do the purchase of a product that will not be supported 100% by the GDK just in case it get supported eventually the update for the GDK only come at a snail pace so fare.

This is a bit disappointing as in "Lee's Tip" bit of the newsletter he erroneously leads people to believe that the level of compatibility with the GDK is the same as with DBPro...

Yup, there is a whole DarkShader section on the GDK update in the newsletter, sigh, oh well, I was so wanting to get these two right now.

Any info on the gdk to gdk.net price path ?

DGDK.NET is derived directly from the GDK libraries, therefore if it works on DGDK, it will work on DGDK.NET.

As for the crossgrade price, I've sent an email to Rick to find out about this.

Paul.
