You have to put the door into a wall. Put the wall there first. Then select door and put it where the wall was.

I also just tried that just now but when i do it i open the door and it shows the wall and i cant go threw

select your segment, press the "walls only" button and place the wall, then place your door. Do not use the wall large segment
