hi, I made a model in anim8or and i was wandering what people thought about it.

any comments and critizm would be appreciated... I don't mind how bad the critizm is, as I can use it for further models I make.

Thanks

Thanks DB newbie ,

Once I have sorted out all the pointless faces that are not being used and reduced the poly count, I will begin to round off certain parts

Thanks again,

Owen,

P.S: I know this is a Newbie question *well i'm new to anim8or*, but is there a command in the anim8or software that simply reduces the poly count?
as some parts of the gun have pointless polies.

Could you please post the picture as a .jpg or a .bmp?

And for your question, I don't think there is (I use Max) but even if there was, I highly suggest you DON'T use it because it doesnt remove the pointless polies, it removes every poly. It's smarter to take them out yourselves.

How much polies, btw?

It's a very nice model, you've got the shape of the stock right and the main body looks great. Only thing is round the handle off a bit that'll make it perfect. There isn't a poly reduction tool in anim8or though unfortunately.

Thanks,

Once i have gotten rid of the useless polies, I will add the Xtra detail required.

Owen,

[EDIT] - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

does anyone know how i can reduce the polies in anim8or, without deleting any faces and how i can find out how many polies/faces are used in my model

Thanks.

Sorry for the triple post but....

Points: 516
Edges: 840
Faces: 416

I have no idea how I convert that into overall polies or what not.

Times the amount of faces by 2 and you've got the poly count (2 triangles per face). Anyway try this if your looking for a poly reducer http://www.download25.com/vizup-reducer-home-license-download.html

You want C&C?

Here we go...

1. Front sight is too thick and too much polies.
2. Make the mag, the body, and the back thingy rounder.
3. Remove the red box, texturing will do that.
4. Less segments on the barrel.
5. On that little thingy near the front that you hold onto, you see those edges in the middle there? Remove them because they do nothing except take up 50 polygons.
6. Also try lowering the segments in it.
7. Remove the gray box in the Mag, texturing will do that.

Hope I helped.

Yeah texturing will make the boxes grey and red. Anyway half the time the colours don't end up in DBPro
