I'm currently trying out gamespace light.
Here's my problem:

If I join 2 objects together using object union then I can't weld any vertices from the mesh that was object 1 to the mesh that was object 2.

If anyone could help?

Thanxs.

You would have been better off to ask this question on the GS forums.
[href]null[/href]http://forums.caligari.com/gamespace/

Place the two objects as close as you can without overlapping them then object union them into one object.Right click on the object then select vertex and the selection rectangle icons,LMB and drag to select a pair of vertices then click on the welding torch icon the vertices should now be welded together repeat as required.

BTW I have posted this on the GS forums as it might help others.

Thanks for reply.

The process you describe is exactly what I have tried.
If for eg I make 2 cubes, put real close then object union into one object. Then I select a vertice from the mesh that used to be cube 1 and select a vertice from the mesh that used to be cube 2 and weld, nothing happens.
If I select 2 vertices from what used to be cube 1 or two from what used to be cube 2 they weld together fine.

Have you tried deleting the two faces before selecting and welding the verts?

GS does not lend its self to this method of modeling very easily for that reason I went over to Silo for creating most of my geometry,Silo allows me to model in any way I like.

Nope that don't work.

I love everything else about gamespace and I'm sure there is a way to do what I want, just a matter of finding it. And you have to buy the manual
I'll probably search through their forum and maybe ask the question over there.

Thanks for your help.

Both ways work for me but I'm using GS 1.6 full version.

Use the line tool and draw between the vertices. Then do a weld.
