I'm looking for a program that can create normal maps and have been unsuccessful so far. If any of you guys have a link of something, i'd be greatful.

Failing that, can i use a bump map instead of a normal map in FPSC?

The Nvidia dds plugin for Photoshop CS8(can't say other versions as that's what I use) can create normal maps from the image. I believe Bond actually paints his though, and have no idea what he uses.

If you just want to make normal maps from a image file Ati has a standalone program called Normal Map Generator that will generate a normal map from a .tga 24 bit image file its freeware also. You can fine it here its actually at AMD website now because AMD and ATI merged.

If your trying to generate them directly from a 3D model 3DS max 7 or higher will generate normal maps using render to texture and as Locrian said above Photoshop CS will also with Nvidia dds plugin.
