(I wasnt sure where to place this)
I have used Plant Life and Tree Magik on this current computer many times, but now when i try to open it it doesnt open. A small black window is shown but then it closes with no trace of it in the Task Manager, or processes.

I have tried opening in compatibility mode, and as administrator but to no avail.

For reference, my specs are here:
Windows Vista Home Premium
Intel Core 2 Quad @ 266MHz
4gb RAM
Nvidia GeForce 9400gt 1gb Video Card.
Directx 10

Thanks in advance,

It might still be that you haven't got DirectX 9 installed.
Not sure whether those apps are dependant on it, but chances are there are big enough changes from version 9 to 10 so that un-existant functionsin v10 are called and the like.

Have you changed the operating system at some point, e.g. from XP to Vista? Which program folder are the two applications in? As others have said, you must have DirectX9 - DirectX10 won't help you.

To no avail.
Updating DX9 didn't work at all.
Any other suggestions?

Ok, am i right in thinking that they were both created in Blitz3d/basic?
I tried running another Blitz program and the same thing happened.

The demos don't work on my XP x64 edition. I'm assuming you have a 64-bit OS, considering you have 4GB of RAM. I believe you need a 32-bit OS to run these. I had more success putting the demos on my 32-bit machine.

Nope this is s 32 bit OS.
Also, i had a look around and it turns out that its a problem with tablets etc. I dont have a tablet PC or a graphics tablet. Its a problem with blitz 3d (plant life and tree magik were mede with it) because my blitz3d demos don't work either.

Ok, they both run under my guest account, so it is something that is running on my main account.

*Fixed*
I created a new account (admin of course),
copied everything over,
and deleted the old one.
Done.
Thanks everyone for your suggestions.
