Is this program going to be easy to use like FPSC
not like 3D World Studio or is it an add on for it because if so
Programs like world studio are to hard to use

Leadwerks Game Engine 2.0 requires programming and is not as easy to use as FPS Creator. It is up to you to decide what you feel most comfortable with and what your goals are.

compared to dark basic how hard it is?
If Iam going to use LGE 2.0 I'll use C#

programming directX with C# is a nightmare compared to dbp
you have to write alot just to make a colored polygon!

so how about LGE?

Go to http://www.leadwerks.com/wiki/index.php?title=Main_Page to check out some of the commands or code examples. It doesn't seem too much different than DBP, but I'm sure it won't be as easy.

I can tell you that LE is much easier than programming raw DirectX.

LE looks like it'll be able to create scenes with stalker level graphics (the water showcase in the movie) without as much programming as DirectX. The £75 price tag might put me off a bit but I'll just save up for a while. Anything with a unified lighting engine built in is worth it in my book. (I've been trying to make one in DBP for the past 3 months. And failed )

I couldn't agree more, I've been trying to produce a unified lighting and shadowing engine in DGDK and have failed likewise.

However, I'm going to spend some time learning to program the DirectX API directly and give it a while to see how people get on with the Leadwerks Engine. I need to see it working in a real game level environment being pushed hard and stretched before I decide to invest time in it. As to the price, if it delivers what it promises then £75 is CHEAP!!!

No matter how good your code is, someone will improve on it

I just took a peek at the wiki, and the engine looks fantastic. I had been watching the engine videos before and it looked amazing, but i thought the language was going to be tough. The language seems pretty similar to that of DBP. I'll definatly be looking into this when it comes out, whenever that is.. Anyone know when it will be coming out yet?

Well Josh said a few times on the 15th, but elsewhere I have seen the 19th and I think that's the date that TGC is going to start reselling it... so I'm not sure which. Either tomorrow or next monday though!

It's a game engine. It has built in functions for sound and physics and input and that sort of thing. It has more built in functionality as a game engine than DBPro does.

I'll definitely buy it. I;ll just have to scrounge some cash from somewhere. I was just looking through the wiki and caught a glimpse of something called leadwerks sandbox. Anyone know what it is?

Sandbox seems fantastic. It is similar to the CryEngine Sandbox utility where you actually edit levels in engine with shadows and physics and everything working in real-time.

However, who knows how long it will take their small team to get it completed. Hopefully soon!

Good news! Are you beta-testing by any chance?

I tried to play with it a while back, but that was before Leadwerks Engine 2.0 worked on SM3.0 cards
