i just made a new tutorial for my site...it teaches you how to model a simple cavern in 3dc...the same concept can be used to make indoor levels such as rooms, halls, sewers, ect.

you can view the cavern tutorial here
http://www.jandscreations.com/files/How_to_make_a_simple_cavern.pdf and if you would like to view all the tutorials for 3dc and many other programs including dbpro then visit my site at:
http://www.jandscreations.com/ don't forget to join my forums and share your links, renders, images, tutorials and code...thanks

thanks, pirate

hey pirate, what version of 3D Canvas are you using?

I ask because I have 7.1.1.2 and I dont have the "add back face button" at all.

Dual-Core Pentium D @ 3.00GHz, 1.0 GB nVidia GeForce 8500 GT, 20" Wide screen LCD @ 10,000:1 Contrast, 4.0 GB DDR2 SDRAM, Triple-boot: 32-bit Windows XP MCE, 64-bit Vista, 64-bit Linux Ubuntu

I don't have it with 7.1.1.2 either. Is there some other way of getting access to the backfaces, as I need them for something I'm working on.

it shows that i have version 7.1.1.2
it should be the 7th tool on the top row...
if it is not there then click on tools at the top of the program...
then click on options...then click on operations...scroll down the list and make sure the plug in called double side is checked...

if it is not there then click tools/plugins/and see if double side is listed...you can use it straight from the plugins...if you dont have the plugin then go to the amabilis site and download the plugins...hope this helps....
oh yea i almost forgot...we are doing a community project in the forums on my site...we have an xna studio rpg project and a blitz3d fps project going now...there is a darkbasic pro fps project starting soon...i have been making all the models by myself in 3d canvas...sure could use some help...if you use 3d canvas you are a friend of mine...just go to my site then to the forums and check it out...

thanks, pirate

Thanks pirate!

Yup, I didnt get the Train Simulator 3.0 plugin (which has the double-sided face operation).

I'm with you on that one! LOL Having, literally, tried all the modeling apps out there, I'm really surprised 3DC isnt more popular. The one I absolutely hate is 3DS Max ... I really dont know why its so popular.

And yeah if I wasnt busy working on my own project I'd definitely take part in the community projects.
