3D Canvas Pro / Cross section modelling help

I've followed the tutorial, and modelled a hammer and sickle as shown on the left side of the attached image. It all looks great, and if I export it as a .x or a .3ds and then reimport it into 3DC it's fine.

However loading the .x or .3ds into another application gives me the model shown on the right side of the image. All of the points seems to converge back to the very first point I created.

Have I done something wrong in the process of creating the model, or is there some option I need to set/change before exporting, or is it just not the right type of thing to be creating with this technique?

Problem solved. Triangulate the model, then compress layers, and then export again

Just triangulate the model before exporting. There is no need to compress it. The layers are not exported anyway. If you compress your model and did not save it first, you will lose all the layers. That makes for a VERY BIG headache if you decide to go back and change something.

I just wanted to pop by here and say thanks for the bone tuts you wrote for bergice. I've just read through them, and I'm going to have a play with them tonight
