Hello,

I am working on my online portfolio here www.jaredgingerich.com My About Me button on the home page doesn't work. Could someone please help me solve this issue as I have already asked a couple colleagues of mine about it and am still unable to solve the problem. I have attached the home and about me page, but there will be blank spaces on the pages because I have not attached any pictures.

Thanks,
Jared

The website is looking for aboutme.html but you have called it aboutme.htm which is why this works;

http://www.jaredgingerich.com/aboutme.htm

Hello spooky,

Thanks for replying. Unforunately, changing aboutme.htm to aboutme.html doesn't work. I tried it and even renamed the file and loaded it several different ways to no avail. I have a flash article running on the homepage of the website where the link is dea; do you think they could be realted? Should I post the entire part of my website, because all it is is just some pictures missing to help show you what I mean.

Edit: I fixed the aboutme page for everyone and uploaded a different name for the website to show that the name wasn't affecting it.

Thanks,

Jared

No, Spooky is correct. The link on your front page for "about me" is linked to a nonexistent file. Change it from aboutme.html (in the href of the front page) to aboutme.htm.

I had a test file named infopage.html and I renamed it to aboutme.html and now the browser is locating the second page fine. Thanks for the help guys, although I do have another coding favor to ask.

I have 2 saved images (.jpg)'s of games (I designed and had to use print screen) using the paint program in my flash carousel on the website. On my desktop the 2 images show up fine, but for some reason the web host is not picking them up to load on the internet. Any ideas?

Also, a picture of what my index page should look like is attached.

Thanks for the replies,

Jared

Not sure what you mean. Where are the images stored on your web server? Or are you having trouble just uploading them? You're not trying to get the applet to look at images on your desktop are you? That would likely cause a permission issue within the applet.

Well, I see site now shows all the images, so assume you found problem.

What is simply you forgot to upload those two images? or was it something else?

Hi spooky,

Thanks for replying. Actually everything I had was correct, except my thumbnail_icon_images.xml in the thumbnails folder on my web server was not overwriting each time I uploaded a picture and found that out when my server provides a free source editior. Which I was checking out all the html and xml I uploaded when I found the problem.

Thanks for the help everyone.
