Well technically it isn't free, they are still getting paid for it but in return you have to sign up for something / to something and TGC get paid from the advertisers to say "thanks for advertising our business and getting people to sign up" by the looks of things if you don't complete the Trialpay thing then you only get the trial version and not the whole version but i may be wrong. What say you RickV?

What exactly does it mean to get FPSC through TrialPay?

Do you pay anything? Is it advertisements? Spam? What?

I couldn't figure this out by looking at their homepage so I hope someone can explain this.

Yes you get the full version if you use this Trial Pay way of attaining FPSC.

This is just another way to sell and market FPSC.

Hmm, no offense or anything, but I think this could possibly give a bad reputation to TGC... This TrialPay thing kind of looks like those "Free iPod!!!" things...

xyzz1233 is right.
And is this the 100% full version of FPSC? It seems a little unfair for us who actually purchased our copy of FPSC. I liked the FPSC Free version idea with trimmed down media and no build game, but this is just to much...

I am sorry if this sounds bad but thats what I think.

I think it's a good thing... If it gets more people using FPSC we can grow as a community...

Maybe someone who can't buy things online gets the free version and does great things with it that benefit the community as a whole... Look at the bigger picture...

No i think its Bull that Someone gets the whole thing for free, even though its your guys software. FPSC was worth more then $50 and now for free? It isnt fair for the people that paid there hard earned money for it. And now people can just get it for free? I Think if they all get something for Free, We should get something for free, lol. But that really is unfair.

Yeah, I agree with Punk13 completely on this: Why can't TGC now give US all one of their products for free, up to the value of the amount WE PAYED for FPSC!

TGC have always been a great business but I'm starting to lose hope...

You guys, it's not 100% free. You still have to pay money to do these offers, so in fact, you are still paying, just not as much.

Swdish proverb: You get 2 flies in one punch...

You get both FPSC and the thing you payed for, thats even worse. Its like: Buy this and you get FPSC thrown in for free.

To be honest, this feels just like something to get more FPSC users wich will buy modelpacks and stuff in the store (wich is good for me ). I am sorry, maybe I am just jealous on those who get this great tool for free.

Sook is a word I hear every day... it's not some word I dragged from the 1920's...

I wasn't referring just to YOU... but to all those who are whining about having paid for FPSC and it now being 'free' for people who use the TrialPay offer...

This sort of thing happens all the time with software it's nothing to get upset about... The money we all spent on FPSC shows our support of the product and helps keeps these updates flowing... If nobody was buying FPSC they wouldn't update it...

This is how I got my version, it works great, but it's not really free. None of the offers are really free, and some offers are scams. The one, 4 cookbooks for $4 actually will charge you around $15. The best one to do is a 1 month subscription to gamefly, thats what I did. That way you get fps creator and video games. ^_^

People whining about paying for it and then it being part-free think about this:

What if you worked the till at a clothing store, and just started doing a 50% off deal on socks (or sooks ) and a man comes in complaining that he paid the full price and should be refunded the other half. He was a jerk.

Don't be a jerk, I'm not saying you are, I'm forewarning.

I think you all are over reacting. Before saying, "OMG THEY GOT IT FOR FREE!," how about looking at the site, and looking at how you get it "free" before you start loosing your head.

1. Nothing in life is free, there are always strings attached. People who use trialplay must complete legit offers, and fill out many surveys. They usually require a credit card number, and load your email down with spam.

2. FPSC is not being given away "free." TGC gets paid for every time someone completes an offer, therefore FPSC is not free. You are indirectly paying for it, it just costs less.

3. Nobody is "cheating" you. After you complete offers and get FPSC, you will have realised it would be easier just to buy it.

So, you all need to [Mod Edit] about how people are getting it "free" (which they are really not), and move on.

Ok, if I go on Trialpay, number 1: is it illegal? number 2o you have to pay or tie your self in with something?

@ Dark master of evil.

all though the answers to ze questions are above

1. yes its legal, TGC would not use it if it was not

2. yes you have to complete some offers and pay for them.

My word people band on about it being given in an offer, Ive paid over 1000 usd for design software and had it given out free later down the line after I have bought it, and I mean free as well, not a sign up deal pay trail ding dong.

But it works both ways, I got Bryce for free, I think that was a few hundred to buy for those that bought it when first released.

Despite my forum title, I don't work for TGC. I do have a decent understanding of business though...

Firstly, I would qualify this by saying it's free for anyone prepared to sign up to an additional service. It's been happening since the 1920's when companies started giving incentives for buying their product.
Think of it the other way around (which is what it actually is) - FPSC is the free toy in your cereal packet, or the free CD in your newspaper - you just have to buy the cereal / newspaper first.

Secondly, anyone who has already bought FPSC did so because it was a worthwhile investment for them at that time. You could have got it free/cheaper today, but you wouldn't have been able to use it until now. Did you complain to the local game store when Age Of Empires went onto the budget shelf, or to the supermarket when the Men In Black DVD went into the bargain bin? Have you taken your PC back because it's cheaper now?

Don't forget that these lower-return outlets ensure the TGC guys can afford to continue working on the next update. Every time someone signs up to a Trialpay/FPSC offer, it helps secure your next free (in the true sense of the word) set of updates.

If Purchased this way do we get a boxed version and/or is it put in our order history? As I'd be a bit cheesed off if you can only download it once.

All you people moaning about the fact some people get it for free is stupid.
I mean you know all these 'free' ipod offers?
Did the people who bought the actual ipod get annoyed when they could have got it for free? No!

What about FPSC sold through affiliates? As for example seen on http://www.regnow.com/
Lots of software makers have succes in letting other people sell their software from their sites. I believe many say that 20-30% of their income are from affiliate sales.

before you speak know what your talking about. thats called a markdown, in the us, you have the right if any store you bought something from marks the price down and you want to be compensated for it, within the first week of purchase you can get the mark down back, but only if you have a valid receipt. i do that at grocery stores all the time, it actually saves you alot of money. Learned that from my good ole' grandma, lol.

Yeah, several people have stated that when someone gets a free ipod online, their friend doesn't send a strongly worded letter to Apple asking for a refund. They go aw man, I should have done that and lets it drop. This is a smart move on TGC's part. Good luck with this TGC.

Besides, some things in life are free, *christmas presents*

Alright, I have been wanting FPSC every since I tried it's free trial a few months ago, and this amazing offer finally came up, but I need some help doing this offer. The problem isn't that I don't want one of these offers, they are excellent, but I will not give out my credit card number over the internet, does every one of these offers require it (even in one of the credit card agreements for realplayer said that they would not pay back 50$ if it goes missing from your account in the small link above "enter credit card number"). Could someone please help me in this hard situation?

EDIT: Also that is because 1.12 automatically downgrades your FPSC to 1.12 just go into program files/FPS Creator then edit userdetails.txt and enter your serial number there.

Diablosbud Productions - a name for the game's developed by me.
