Recently I bought a new PC.I was very skeptical about FPS Creator running smoothly or at all , due to the OS being a 64 bit Windows.Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit to be precise.

However to my surprise versions to 1.16 (included) worked fine, that is until I updated to 1.17.After running FPS Creator , these messages came up :

I tried updating from a fresh install , I tried from 1.15,1.16 , I installed DX9,10 and 11 , changing Compatability modes,moving FPS Creator from D:\ to C:\ and E:\ , no luck.

When I was using it on XP SP3 everything worked like a charm...

Does anyone competent enough know how to fix this,I'm out of ideas and I'm a bit mad.

P.S - IT's NOT because the folder is named FPS Creator117,I renamed it intentionally after a lot of testing.

The program actually requires it to be ran,so that's not the issue.

I even set rights to the MapEditor to be ran automatically as admin.

A few players of my DBPro game have run into this as well. It seems to be related to the Windows update KB981852. If you uninstall just that update by itself, it often starts to work just fine. It seems only to happen on a few select system configurations. I'm not sure yet what the cause is, but it does appear to be an issue with DBPro/FPSC.

Same here with 1.17 - Windows7 64bit - was fine up until I installed the latest Windows service pack (I think). Now, I can't launch FPSC at all

Love to hear it, if anyone else has any ideas!

Nope, FPSC doesn't work here at all. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling it, but still just crashes every time with that error.

Sounds like DB was broken like this, too, until they patched it...

Shame, really, since I was having fun with FPSC. Oh well.

Yeah use the latest FPSC Beta since this error was fixed on Beta 1.18.
