FPSC Classic Product Chat / Can't use FPSC

I know this should be posted in Bug Reports, but I did. But no answers. It started around 1-2 months ago. I had not used my FPSC for while and when I started it and wanted to select a segments to paint, the libary would not open. It is stuck closed. Same with entities and prefabs. There is the "+" to open it, I click it, nothing happens. It just wont open. I've posted everywhere, searched everywhere. What is going on. I contacted Lee via email and totally forgot support so I got a mail from one of the TGC people to uninstall, reinstall, delete registry and so on. Nothing worked.


Does anyone have ANY ideas how to fix this as I am having good ideas for games?

Hi Niclauke,

I'm sorry you're having a bad time with the FPSC, but it is very weird that after uninstalling it, cleaning up your computer registry and reinstall, all keep going the same way, I mean that the difficulty remains.

If you want that someone else be able to help you, you need to provide some further information such as:

- What is your operating system, version and the technical specifications of your computer?

- What is the version of FPSC are you trying to install on your computer?

- You are using a full version or a free version?

- Would you mind showing us if possible a video or screenshots with the errors you are getting, and you are talking about in your post?

Please note without detailing the information of your problem, it is very difficult for people try to help you.

@Niclauke :- Sorry you having problems i would install and updated to the latest beta and try that also run the mapeditor and fpsc.exe in administration mode.

If I am correct, did you bother checking out programfiles\programfiles(x86)\The Game Creators\FPS Creator\files\Segments?

I believe your segments are missing. o.o

Hello Niclauke,

First of all, thank you for your informations and screenshots.

My laptop has technical specifications very similar yours, and the operational system is the same like yours - Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 64 bits. Also I have installed on my laptop o FPSC version 1.18.017 and all works fine. My original FPSC was the version 1.0 shipped with a CD and box and after that version, it was updated to version 1.18 and since then I have stopped at all my updates for FPSC.

You might try this solution to fix your problem:


1- Please follow the link below and download upgrade 1.18, because this is the version, I have on my laptop and work fine.

Download upgrade 1.18, because this version should be more stable than the version 1.19 or later (my opinion).


2- Uninstall any other version of the FPSC you have >>>> cleaning up your Windows Registry >>>> installing the version you got when you purchased the trialpay license.

After that install the upgrade, 1.18 >>>> run the FPSCreatorCleaner.exe, as administrator (please, search for FPSCreatorCleaner.exe file inside the GAME CREATORS\FPS CREATOR FOLDER)

3- next open up the file userdetails.ini, also placed inside THE GAME CREATORS\FPS CREATOR FOLDER, and check out if your data are correct. If some field is missing, please fill it correctly. You might open that file using Windows NotePad or similar software.

Inside the userdetail.ini file, you will find the information below:

[PERSONAL DATA]

YourName= writes YOUR NAME.

YourSerialCode= writes YOUR LICENSE CODE.

YourFullPath= writes YOUR ACTUAL FPSC LOCATION PATH HERE (for example: C:\Program Files(x86)\The Game Creators\FPS Creator)

[LOCALIZATION]
language=English

Please note if you have done any change in this file (userdetails.ini), you need to save it as type "all files (*.*)" option, into the desktop.

Following, please move or copy the file you have just been saved and paste it into The Game Creators\FPS Creator Folder, replacing the older one.

That's it!

Now is time to run your FPSCreator.exe file as Administrator and verify if all works fine. If so, it's done!

However, if the old problem remains, you might try to run the FPSC in compatibility mode to Windows XP (sp2) with the option "run the program as administrator" checked.

Again, run the FPSC e verify if all works satisfactory. If so, great! If it failed and the problem still there, sorry I do not know how to help you any more.

Thanks alot. Re-installing and cleaning doesn't help anything. And v1.18 doesn't matter. V1 even gives the problem.

As for now im on my gaming laptop so I will use FPSC from here untill I reinstall my desktop computer.

If anyone knows another way to fix, please post.

I know that problem because I have it too but I know how to fix it for me . When you cannot see your library , just go to VIEW/STATUS BAR and click on it. The library will show. And do it once again and you will see the library and status bar too. Hope I helped you

Your signature has been erased by a mod, please reduce it to no larger than 600 x 120.

Fixed.

For some reason "Elite Keylogger" was installed, and that caused the problem.

Don't worry, it didn't do no harm. I probably downloaded it myself. I believe it was only local though, hopefully. I haven't seen any suspecious acivity on my accounts for stuff though, so it's alright.
