FPSC Classic Feature Creep / FPs Creator Improvement Update???

I got a great idea when I was watching some EFX Mod videos (Website is closed ) on YouTube . Here are my ideas :

1- A "Table Of Commands" where you can adjust : Bloom , Shadows , Light Effects , etc ... Just like in X10 or in EFX Mod .

2- Better die animations for ennemy AI (Fall on the floor like in X10 instead of doing the crucifix) .

And here are the reasons why most people would like this update :

1- I don't want to buy X10 because I don't want to buy Vista (It suck's)

2- X10 is only compatible with Vista and I have Windows XP

3- FPS Creator X9 graphics CAN be improved

4- I don't want to buy a new computer , just for VISTA !!!

5- I'm waiting for Windows 7 ...

I know that you guy's (The game creators) can do it , because if 2 german boys can do it (EFX Mod) ... Yes , We Can !!!

X10 is limiting the use of games made for just X10 pc users and thats not the best idea for game sales of any kind.

No offense to you or any X10 supporter but hike the price up on X9 and make it the way it should be made with all the features of X10. You dont have to have an X10 card or run Vista to have the options of X10.

Fix X9 and raise the price, I bought it once and would buy it again for more money if they were to add these features.

Ok a few answers

If you had seen how much code is in FPSC you would know this would take ages to do and is unrealistic for an update for FPSC X9 (many mods do this why ask for it in stock FPSC when you get more with mods)

Again same reason as above and this is much harder in X9 than in X10 as X9 doesnt use the same physics engine as DirectX 9 is again outdated.

Vista doesnt suck its the person using it who has suckish computer skills to realize it has many new enhancements that top XP any day and if you knew your way around properly you would realize like many others it is better than XP in almost every way(although not perfect windows 7 is perfect though)i have used Vista since it came out and i have found it much better and more stable than XP ever was and i have never had a program that hasnt worked.

Well get vista and a decent PC then you can keep up with the rest of the gaming industry

Well obviously we all know that its obvious beyond belief but they are not going to be changed any time soon as X10 is the future thats why it was made.

well you are going to be very far behind everyone else then because DirectX 9 and XP are now being left in the past they are old fashioned and a waste of space.

Good for you but you will need to get a new pc and you just said your not going to HINT: Buy Vista now get WIN7 free when released

Heres an idea just use the germans boys version as you put it TGC are far too busy at the moment
Ok now for a few comments of my own

DirectX 10 is so much better all new games support it and some dont support X9 any more, X9 is now junk and something Microsoft is leaving in the past they have used it for years now and it has been good but keep with the times, true not many have a pc that can run X10 right now but in about 1 to 2 years everyone will have one and that includes people that dont play games. Now for Vista and XP you need to actually buy the OS before you can say its crap Vista has bugs yes many where fixed in the Service packs and all the rest are fixed in WIN7 which BTW if you buy a vista PC now you get free when it is released. Unless you want to stay with an outdated and frankly pointless engine i suggest you do get a decent PC and move to X10 that is the way the games industry is going and TGC can see that and are right to be spending their time on X10 at the moment.

Now none of that was meant to offend if it did then sorry , but it is about time you realized that X9 isnt going to be around for much longer and that Vista, win7 and Direct X 10 are the way weare all heading if we like it or not.

I agree that Direct X10 is way better for games and media. I did own Vista and would have to agree that its got its perks but not worth the bugs in my opinion.

In a few years DX10 will no longer be and 11 will be in with Windows 7, this year, so we will all have to move on at some point.

No offense here by any means. Some just hate Vista and I am on that wagon. Hopefully FPSC will create a entirly new engine with all the options to work on both dx9,10, and 11. I dont think they should limit themselves to just the higher end pc's thinking everyone will have one. There are many of us that will run XP for the next 5yrs just for the bugs to catch up with themselves and the software has less issues with things like FPSC and many others out there.

We all have our opinions so why not express them right?

You can get a free version of pretty much any game engine under $1000 but its the build game option or license that you have to pay for.

I knew about the free version, but like DonWON said, you can't build anything unless you pay for the build game upgrade. I didn't know about the trialpay deal though.

The Next makes some compelling arguments, but here is my question:

Why continue to sell and market FPSC X9, and release Model Packs for it, if there is going to be no update, or improvement afforded to the product?

Better, all X9 media and sales be stopped, and X10 be upgraded to improve its compatibility with previous systems.

Also, if the various Mods can accomplish some of the said features, why can't the creators of the actual engine do the same? It would seem like a lazy and irrational argument to say that "you get more with mods" so why ask for it...

I feel that since roughly half the world is still using Win XP, and X9, the requested updates are worth a punt.

Because TGC has a lot of other things on their hands to deal with. There's DBPro, updating FPSC x9 and x10, and then there are all the iphone/ipod touch apps they've been making.

yeh like Coach shogun 20 said TGC has much on its hands right now with DBP and DarkGDK being updated to support the migration work and other much needed features. Also they have iPhone apps being made its all to much for a 7 member team they need to get those out the way first then they can come back and give us tome attention.

No as far as i know Rick doesn't do programming any more hes now financial advisor they have Lee and 2 others i think its 2 anyway (sorry forgotten names) but only Lee works on FPSC really then you have The site order support and the site admin and Janet runnign the store so

1 Financial director
3 programmers
1 order support
1 web admin
1 tgc store admin
= 7

Thats how it is a i believe or it was last time i checked lol, but Lee works on FPSC + DBP mainly and the others work on iPhone apps and other smaller projects.

@BREED: You need to have a Direct X10 compatible graphics card, it isn't as simple as buying vista and instantly having access to all Direct X10 applications.

Also, I DO have a X10 compatible graphics card, and a while ago I got my hands on X10. At the time, I didn't have a capable PC, just wanted the chugshot really badly. And some of Bond's/Fletcher's high quality sci-fi characters.

Now that I have acquired a Windows 7 RC disc off a friend, I dual booted it yesterday, and as a simple test, I installed my dusty copy of X10. It worked perfectly.

As for the operating system, it's pretty damn fast and useful once you disable UAC, and update your GPU drivers.

Nvidia GeForce 9800gt GPU
2gb RAM
580 watts PSU
Intel Pentium D 3ghz dual core

If you can beat/match my custom built PC, your PC is perfect for a match of Windows 7 and FPSC X10. You just need to save up a bit of money for some upgrades and a £100 operating system.

Yea, Vista doesnt suck in my eyes, its the end user who is making it suck by mabe not understanding on how to use vista. every problem I every had with vista I managed to fix (Even if it took me 2 weeks) lol, I did that once, seemed pretty dull when doing it but the resaults of all that hard work of googling and trying it out my self was worth it ^^

All in all, most complaints from XP users who move to Vista are about performance, especially since they often have below the recommended requirements...

If I was ever given the opportunity to remove all the bad from the world, I wouldn't, because for there to be heroism, compassion and all that is good, there must also be all that is bad.
