Hey guys,

I was fiddling today and found the ODE (Open Dynamics Engine, I think) keywords file in Dbpro\Editor\Keywords, and was looking at the list of commands, and I have to tell you, they look pretty wimpy to me! I have been using Dark Physics, and, although I didn't used to like it (due to the amazing number of incorrectly written help files), I have been using it in my own FPS game. It works REALLY well for FPS games because of the extremely easy-to-use adding of rigid bodies. I mean, have you ever tried using Newton??? You use about 10 times more code with it! Anyway I was thinking Lee would do well to move over to Dark Physics cut out a potentially huge amount of excess code while gaining many more commands. Just a thought

Not good and effective to me. Dark Physics requires the PhysX SDK(I believe), and doesn't run too well on older and non-Nvidia cards. ODE is a good, free, and open source physics engine, so I think Lee should stick with that.

I somewhat agree with this post, but I would actually make it so that the games made in FPSC could use either ODE or DarkPhysics. That way depending on the target audience you could switch it on or off.

The PhysX SDK is not needed to actually use Dark Physics with DBPro.
