The Idea Behind This Demo Is To Have A Museum Type Environment With
Exhibits Of Each Different Aspect Of PhysX's Possibilities. All The Exhibits
Will Be Interactable, and Also PhysX Will Be Used Throughout The General
Map (Such As Flames and Cloth Banners).

Boyencey
Cloth

Yes Its 100% Finished, Just Bug Testing Now (Whilst Trying To Do Maths Homework)

We're Still Having Some Problems With The Water.

Im rather chuffed with how well my Nvidia Logo Fountain has come out. Wasnt sure how well it would work with making it in 3DWS but it seems to look ok.

Still got quite a bit of work to do on the museum itself, also need to work on a few different textures, make a few look better etc.

Cheers Tcarrillo, and as for the fluids, I was thinking about using them in the fountain, but then It killed my fps (n i have an Nvidia Geforce 8600 GT graphics card), so insted it will only be shown in the exhibit area (which isnt in any of the videos above, but will be shown this week). bassically there will be some kind of slide with a pond at the bottem, which has fluids start at the top but also rigid bodies to show how fluids interact with there environment. The smart thing is that the exhibits are only started when your near them meaning, there arnt loads of things happening at once, so it doesnt kill your fps

I wanted TV to try and add the fluids to the fountain aswell, but unfortunatly his laptop couldnt cope with the stress, I still think that if we ran the demo on my desktop that it could be a fairly cool idea. However we have decided to add cloth to the enviroment itself aswell as in the exhibits, with maybe the possiblity to have objects lying around that you can throw at the cloth and perhaps tear the cloth.

I think your level looks great. Did you model all that by yourself? if so looks like you got some good skills.

Yeah, everything you see there apart from the water and the fire was done by me in 3DWS. Still a fair bit of work to do in the form of exhibitions and such. Thanks though =]

You could still have the real fluid in the fountain, but only use if for MEDIUM and HIGH scaling modes (to show that only top end machines can handle the intensity of real water). These are things NVIDIA are looking for as they want people to see how fast their GPUs can accelerate these cool new techniques like real water and cloth.

Thanks for the feedback. DarkPHYSICS really should not BSOD if your machine cannot handle it, so that is probably a bug we can fix. Maybe try creating a VERY SMALL fluid emitter with a handful of particles, but if your laptop does not handle Pixel Shader 3.0 model then you won't see fluids rendered in any event. You can make a check whether the destination machine has shader model 3.0 before creating fluids in your demo (if you still wanted the fluid out the fountain trick on top end machines). Good luck!

Cheers Lee,

I Found Out How To Fix The Bug,

I Just Downloaded The Trail DBpro/DarkPhy and Use That, Before I Was Using DBpro v01.66 and DarkPhy v1.05 (Thats The Latest DP I Think) and That Gave BSOD, But Using The Trial Works.
