Ok, basicly i cant compile and run any of the fluid demos, whenever it attempts to run, the computer actualy freezes. The mouse wont move, numlock etc wont turn off. What is going on here?

@ General Reed: Seems to me like you found an other bug in DP-fluids! Mike told me the fluids were tested and are working on GeFo-8800-cards! Also most other cards seem to have a problem to display them correctly! (This is the case on my system!)

This won't help you actually, but now you know they normally should work fine! You might ask Mike directly for a tip and tell him your system-specs exactly? (Maybe he has time to look into it?) That's all I can suggest!

Ok Update:-
The fluids work fine with dbp version 6.9, but u cant use shaders with 6.9 because fulstrum culling and fastsync are broken in 6.9. im sorry but WHAT THE HELL? Come on tgc, i dont see how we are supposed to include fluids in our ubers.

If there is a workaround for this, then i would really like to know.

I hope this is fixed in time for us to add fluids to our ubers

@ General Reed: What graphics-driver-version do you use? I just tried to compile the fluids-demo and my g-card-driver gets reset all the time (and so the demo crashes)! I have the 177.79 Vista-64-beta driver running and PhysX-8.06.16! Before I had the 177.66 and I'm sure the demo compiled but had strange "looking" fluids (=spheres) instead of a smooth surface! Maybe in your case the gc-driver kills your whole system? Maybe an other (older one) graphics-card-driver helps?
(May DB-Pro is 6.9 and DP 1.05!)

You have to use 6.9 for the new fluids. Mike said this in the update thread.

You're lucky fluids actually work for you.

, Well maybe but out of graphics, and some simple fluid effects, i think a customer would look more for quality of graphics. Am i not correct?

We are all having the troubles with update 6.9.

I get that strange camera bug with 6.9 and I can't use fluids. Just be lucky you are able to use the fluids themselves. Lee will most likely fix the bugs you describe if you email him.
Lee was unable to fix the problem I have with fluids (Some ATi cards are a bit funny with the render process).

In a graphics demo yes. However do not forget you are entering a PhysX competition. While you should take pride in the visual style of your game, do not make the physics suffer for a few more shaders.

Good show.
If you are having trouble with the multiple camera bug. DarkCoder told me of a quick fix you can use:

Set object radius obj,-1

This will stop object disappearing.

And also if you are currently getting pixel swim with U6.9, load your images with an additional parameter zero to restore the functionality you experienced with U6.8. Shaders work fine with U6.9 but some shader examples relied on functionality that was modified in U6.9 for increased performance and consistency (i.e. code was removed from FASTSYNC because the SYNC command repeated the code and meant activity was being un-necessarily duplicated). Check out the readme notes in U6.9 for more information on these changes and how they might affect older shader programs.

The fluid renderer is very new so there will be glitches. Send me your UBER demo (or let me know the filename in the INCOMING FTP area) and a screenshot of what you get on your PC and we can go from there.
