im gonna wait a lil more and see if you can gimme some more info before i whip out the flame thrower

Yes, that's a nice pic, but you need to post some JPEGs in the actual thread, that actually show something about the game.

You've given us almost no explanation of the game at all, and have shown a picture that despite how cool it looks, says absolutely nothing on how far you are into the game, or even what the game is like.

It looks good, so it'd be a shame if it got flamed, but it's that much more likely to, as you've just joined today.

Quickly post some JPEG screens of the game actually working, as well as a good amount of info on why we would actually want to play your game.

Edit: It looks like you've made two more posts, but the mods are still checking them out.

Here are some JPEGs!

As I wrote before, the story is not finished and the only thing you can do at this point in the game is to jump and walk.

Firstly: You posted a BMP. You get a time-out. Doesn't matter what country you're from, or how badly you speak English, you do not post BMPs almost 2MB in size. Glad you understand.

Second: Game looks cool. Especially for DB classic. Why on earth are the dimensions so wierd? Dou have a wide monitor?

Tell us more about the game, and maybe more screens. As an ANJL Agent, it's my job to set people straight, so for your benefit I have converted and uploaded that horrible screen of yours into a nice small JPG image. Follow this example and good luck with your project.

Enlist in the ANJL today. May the Cat gods watch over you.

Well, despite the cat and his minions prowling around here, ready for blood, I'd like to say that the screen shots look very promising so far.

Maybe you could give us some indication of what you have, and where you're going with this -

Do you see yourself having combat? What kind?
Is it a 'levels' based game? Free roaming?
Did you do the graphics yourself?
It looks 3rd person, rotating camera, platformer - is that right?

Generally, it looks good, but unless you'd like these uppity, furry vultures to get you, it might be nice to post a bit more information. Looks cool though.

Sorry for those heavy BMP-images
Here´s some more JPEGs:

Right now I´m working on a sword that shall be used for killing monster and stuff, and it shall also have the ability to absorb souls from "people".

I´m sorry to say this, but I have no playable version ready right now. And I´m afraid it will take a while, because I have a lot of homework right now...

Answers to some of your questions Tinkergirl:
It´s a level-based game(right now) with an 8-way control, 3rd person camera and platform-jumping. And YES, I have made the graphics myself

Nice to see your character with the sword - I'll be interested to hear how you get on with the animating of the character swinging the sword (if you've not done that already). I have the greatest respect for people who can animate bipeds.

look'n pretty sweet, although does the gameplay measure up with the graphics?

Any story line yet if there is any...? Not trying to sound harsh or anything, so i'll stop talking and wait and see

Sephiro: I work on the story from time to time, but I think I´m pretty finished with it now, and I´m going to reveal some info!
This thing that I call "Soulhunter"(for the moment), was adopted by an evil circus-family that locked him into a cage. They made a lot of money on their attraction: "The Freak". One day the poor little creature(soulhunter) went mad and breaked the cage, killed the circus-family and the audience and ran out into the forest...
That was a part of the story, maybe I´ll change it.
I can also say that Soulhunter does not have a soul and then he´ll have use for his magic sword, that I mentioned before.

This is a wonderful and original graphic style! And The story sounds good so far.
So is this anything like a zelda game? And what kind of frame rate is it getting?

You can find the screenshots at this address:
http://medlem.spray.se/everlord/soulhunter.html
But please, don´t download the pictures!
Then I´ll get even more problems...

News about the game:
One of my harddiscs crashed today...
I was lucky though, it was the empty one!
The sword animation is fully complete, I finished it yesterday.
I´ll include the "Smiley" character in the game tomorrow.
And the fps in the game is 40, but I´ll try to increase this later.

Your bandwidth problem is mainly caused by the size's of those files, I tried one thing out which made the file size roughly 150KB, just simply change the canvas size to 50% width, 50% height and save as a .png. as shown in the attatchment, there isn't that much quality lost

The "Smiley" enemy is now animated!
Now I just have to write the code for it, set the code as some kind of standard for all enemies and then I can start making a lot of different badguys!

Thanx Tinkergirl & Hawkeye!
I just wrote the standard collision code for monsters.
So the things I have to do before I start making the levels is:
Monster get hit by sword code.
Monster souls escaping from the killed monster.
Collectable souls.
Some cool effects.
And of course, some more monsters.
I´ll probably make an intro sequence when I´m done with level1. The save code will be imported from another game of mine, The digger.

Here´s a shot from the monster and sword thing(codename: S.t.u.n)

What do you guys think I should use as special effect when the monster dies, blood, an explosion or maybe a smoke thing?
