Just saw this on the polycount boards, and I had to share this here. Absolutely hilarious, and an awesome weapon idea too!

Hahahahaha!!! That's funny, man...so many possibilities with that thing! Some-one (not me, trust me, I'm bad at making custom material) needs to make this. Thanks for the laugh Bond!

That is a good one.

Yeah that is cool weapon.
Country music might hurt the user too, like a health drain while playing.

There should be a finger animation for switching it on and off.

I mean, that could be done with a HUD the way they did it.

Really simple, but effective.

You know I'm running with that right?

Oh yeah, there's SOO many possibilities. I would personally make a "Boltenomenator". That blasts, you guessed it, Michael Bolten.

"How can we be lovers if we can't be friends.."

I think this will be a pet project of mine if someone doesn't beat me to it first.

What about the Witch Doctor song? I can see that...

Bond...that was funny...but wrong.
You should have put a warning in your posts so people would plug their ears.
That weapon would kill anything...taste and talent would be at the top of that list.
That is the funniest thing I have seen in a while.
Too bad nobody used that on The Rock before he made that Doom movie.

Edit:

Think about the humanity...didn't Bolton punish enough people last time around?
On the bright side if I had this weapon I could just use it to moderate users.Nobody is going to break the AUP if they have to answer to the "Boltenomenator"...
I don't know if I could bring myself to do that to another human being.
Another suggestion would be the "Great White" simulator...you know you have a guitar and when you play it everything catches on fire...
Yes,that was kind of sick but think about it...Pyrotechincs indoors?Who could have seen a fire coming?
For those of you who don't know what I am talking about google Great White...
I have more great ideas for weapons like this...

Peter Frampton might have a better weapon though...if you had a weapon that plays the live versions of "Baby I love yoru way" or "Do you feel like I do?" the enemy would die of old age by the time the song finished playing.
Or the Thriller weapon where you use it and all your enemies have to do the Moonwalk, making it quite simple to shoot them.
You could also add music from The Human League to the weapon in the first post...it's even worse than the music in the video.
You could give the weapon heavy meatal music. It would blow out any windows and destroy any destructible entities within the range of the thrash music and make the enemies' eardrums bleed.
If you really wanted to make your enemies truly suffer add the "music" (and I am using the term very loosely here) of Yoko Ono.
Of course if you play one deathmatch with the Yoko Ono weapon you won't have any friends left.
Once again...for all of you young 'uns that have no idea who these people are look them up...just don't listen to their music except for Frampton. He's good...it just takes forever for him to play a song.

Please have mercy and use the search function.

You could make a dance pad trap where the enemies walk on it and then are forced to dance until you whack them.
I have never heard the banana song and by the tone of your post I am guessing I never want to hear it.
My brother has a CD "Bugs Bunny does Elvis" or something like that where Bugs and company do Elvis covers. It is so bad thatr we used to play it to get annoying people to leave...it usually took less than a song...thank the stars because much more if it and there wouldn't be enough booze (or soda if you're under 21) to erase the horror of it...at times I thought about poking out my eardrums with a rusty, dull screwdriver...jusr like I think about it every time my old lady nags me (or ex-old lady or whatever she is today)...

Of course, I don't think you could ever release the game commercially, but I would consider anything by Celine Deon to be cruel and inhuman punishment.

Listen to some Yoko Ono...you'll be begging to listen to Celine Dion.
Also,Biz Markie was horrible..."And you say he's just a friend..."I'm still waitng on him to hit more than one key at a time on that flippin' piano.
And,of course, the real reason we should all be ashamed of the '80's...Boy George...
Now watch some Boy George fan get offended...
How about the supermodel simulator weapon...you pick up a food item and them vomit it on your enemies so you can stay at 80 pounds and look like a skeleton...

No.Not gonna bite...he's that guy that got kicked off of Idol a few years back (and he must have been really bad because I knew that and I don't watch Idol) and my nephew liked him and bought that evil first CD he and others who wanted to inflict pain and suffering on all of humanity released.
And the sad thing is I am not sure that this poor guy has yet figured out he sucks.

Banana Phone. Not the video, just the song. PS. that is the shortened version.
Its horrible. Faint at heart should not view, possible cases of suicide may arise.

Actually the song was originally made for mentally retarded babies. *please no one get offended from the term retarded. because that is what it is called* Either way it was and still is horrible.

Sweet, great job! Now I really want to make a game called God of Rock or something like that.

I'd throw some Steve Perry in there too, "Oh Sherry". I love me some Journey (you know you do too), but solo Steve Perry was total pussy-rock.

I can't believe so many people can relate to a Rick Astley reference! Did he make it to the US, I thought he was one of those things we tried to export but nobody would take him.

Oh yes, he made it to the US, and to the VH1 crowd. I remember being stunned by seing that voice coming out of a goofy 12 year old-looking-red-headed white guy. I thought for sure those songs were sung by a black guy...

Even back in the day Rick Astley was a punchline for me. I remember the videos too!

Yes...The States love bad music. The song in the video was a #1 hit and I had to listen to it over and over and over as the radio stations played it endlessly.
I believe if you watch the Family Guy/Back to the Future episode that is the song Brian plays (whereas Michael J. Fox played "Johnny B. Goode").
If you ge the chance you should watch it.It's a lot funnier than the Star Wars one they did...although that was funny too.
My ex or girlfriend or whatever she is today loves '80s music...sometimes really bad music. The rule is if I enjoy listening to it she can't stand it and will find something that is worse than fingernails on a chalkboard.
If you were around during the formative years at MTV (back when they actually played music videos) most of the videos were bad...even absolutely awful. My brother and I tried watching the replay of the first day of MTV where they replayed the first 24 hours that aired on MTV.I think because videos were a new form of media then it was like when movies or tv or anything else bagan...people didn't care if it was good or bad.It was new and amazing...unless you bought a beta VCR to watch your videos on.

Hmmm... Maybe you're not aware of a little song by Eddie Murphy? "Party All The Time"

Oh yeah baby...with Rick James even....whoohoo..."My girl wants to..."...clap clap..."...Party all the time!"

LOL

Now I'm thinking why not have the different songs have different damage effects and ranges.
Then a new tape could be a pickup and offer more destruction.

Certain enemies could be immune to certain songs.

If this were a free fan based game then the sky is the limit as to what you use and who you make fun of.

Edit

Here is another one of my favorites by Richard Cheese that is destined for mass destruction.

Ugh! I wish I had never seen that video in the first place now. I've been humming that #@!%& song in my head for the past 5 days now.

Now I remember why that song was such a hit. I hate you, stupid insanely catchy Rick Astley.

Hmmhmmmuahahahahahahaha...

Oh wait, that's my evil laugh.

LOLZ

That's better.

This is great. I think we need more original ideas like this in FPS games. Remember half-life? Remember those little aliens that you could terrorise your opponents with? Good times. We need more ideas like the 'Bladerang' or the 'Rocket Propelled Iron Launcher' (the appliance not the metal) in todays games. Shotguns, Machine guns, Assault Rifles and SMGs start to get boring after a while and you start to pine for the days when you could tear your enemies to pieces with baby mutant blood-thirsty aliens.

Oh, and if anyone's going to recreate this weapon, they have to make the main character bob in time with the music when he walks. That'd be sweet.
