Hi all
I have a problem with version 1.19 and perhaps there is also 1.20

Youtube= http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jz_IqWkzYj4&feature=youtu.be

When a character walks up the stairs with waypoint is locked at the top level.

I have attached the file .Fpm for those who want to control.

Thanks, Tax

It appears to be a collision problem. The wooden stairs are meant to go with segments from the WW2 pack. Especially, the Chateau. You are using the common ground segments and you can see that AIKO gets stuck in the "ground" at the top.

Use the sample fpm called GS12-WaypointsMultilayer.fpm. It is in the Samples sub-folder. If this works then their is no bug with v119. And I can vouch that it works in both v119 and v120.

There is also a post in the v120 beta thread that concerns this issue.

You just have to work with it by trying various things.

THEORY - you know everything but nothing works. PRACTICE - when everything works but don't know why. For me, theory and practice are combined: nothing works and I don't know why.

Hi Flatlander, thanks for reply

I tested with sample map GS12-WaypointsMultilayer.fpm: work

But if I use the wooden stairs with ww2 segments: works not

The wooden stairs of the map exemple, not exist , look the image attached.

As usual the map editor is not identifying the objects correctly. I have it listed as staircase wood within the "ww2\platforms" folder. This is how it should have been listed on the segments tab instead of "Chateau Study Room Mid." This problem has been around since day one of FPSC. I think Lee's tried to fix it at least once in the past but to me it's worse with the newer map editors. Something we have to just put up with, I guess.

I don't know if this will be of any help at all but over the years I have noticed that not all of the stock segment 'floors' are at the same height as each other which in turn means that when you place a stair segment to traverse between levels the stairs will 'connect' to the upper level at different height positions.
I say this because in your first video I noticed a empty 'gap' between the top of the stair segment and the upper level flooring which I think 'might' be causing a collision problem hence the AI getting stuck on the spot.

Have you tried to 'raise' each segment part within the stair segments FPS file in order to 'close' up that gap?
(An increment of just '1' on the 'Y' axis for all might just do it)

As I have said this is just a thought whilst trying to figure out whats going on here.

All the best of luck.
