Uggh... i just need a way to load simple TMX maps, dont want to have to make my own editor but so far it's looking that way.

Search is your friend.

Type TMX into the box at the bottom of this page and you'll get a few hits.

I tried them, it didn't work - returning -1 for index, or not loading at all.

What would be an easy way to read in and parse this?

They work for other people, so you must be missing something important. Have you tried asking questions in the associated threads to get help with them?

There is a simple placement editor that comes bundled with AppGameKit (<your agk folder>\Tier 1\Utilities\Placement Editor) - You should find some useful source code in there for doing what you require.

I made one type tiled in search bar.

Developer of Space Chips, pianobasic, zipzapzoom, and vet pinball apps. Developed the tiled map engine seen on the showcase. Veteran for the military.
