Particle Playground V 0.1

[EDIT]:

Particle Playground V1 Released. Read information about it, and download it here:
http://forum.thegamecreators.com/?m=forum_view&t=60141&b=5

[EDIT] 8 july 2005. Done with the user-guide. And some other info:

Hi!

I have just finished the user-guide!
Now i'm gonna move on and make the toolbar nicer
But i also have some other info for you. I have decided to make Version 0.2 to version 1.0 as i see it as a real release and not just a beta. i don't know when i'm gonna release Version 1.0 yet.

[EDIT] 3 july 2005. Info and a screenshot from V 0.2 :

I've just got home from Italy. Sorry i didn't told about that
But i see that my product have reached the newsletter!
I'm soooo happy!
Well.. Now that i'm back i can start work on it again!
So if you find any bugs then please tell me

Info and screenshot from new V 0.2

I just wanted to tell about V 0.2 and show a screenshot
Now the new features is as followed :

*Decide the particle speed

*Decide how many particles that the emitter should "shoot" out per second

*Freeze the particles if you wanna look closer to them.

*Turn the matrix on and off. If you get a bad frame rate you can now turn off the matrix to get a better frame rate.

here is a screenshot of V 0.2 :

Thanks for all the wonderfull comments!

-The Nerd

[EDIT]:

New version is out. It's version 0.1a. This version actually dosn't do much. Expect you'll get new gadgets in the toolbar(NOTE!: They dosn't work yet.) the only reason why i make a 0.1a was to fix a bug some of the users had were the program couldn't start and gave a error messgae instead. So if you've tried that then please try this update. I hope this will fix it. Just go to the download link to get it. Also notice that in V 0.1a the program will run in full-screen. It wasn't ment to be that way but i just forgot to compile it windowed. But next release(V 0.2 will include all the new features and will be windowed.

I have now worked a while on a particle engine/editor. I call it Particle Playground. Actually i made i for myself because i wanted to make particles quick and easy without having to compile over and over again to get the right results.
But then i though if someone in here could use it that would be good too

Here you got some screenshots from it:

*Current features for Particle Playground V 0.1 :*

Make easy particles

Color your particles easy using a color dialog

Texture your particles. Particle Playground will set the object transperancy on if necessary

Export your code to a dba file(If you want to compile your exported source you will need the Cloth and Particle pack). You can also decide what the filename should be and what the function name should be called

Change Particle Life, Particle Explode, Particle Mass and particle size. Also change the particle gravity on X, Y, Z to get good looking particles

With Particle Playground you'll get a User-Guide in Word Document and TXT file

Comments and suggestions would be nice!

Wow, now that looks nice..ive got some serious competition here !
Well done Nerd, its been amazing to see how much you have changed since you were a newbie, and this is your bst piece yet.
Downloading now.

Ok works well...although i didnt really feel I had control over the particles, regardless of my options I couldnt control their starting speeds or rate at which they appeared.
But a great start mate and a very nice GUI.
Good luck

Well... I think i could change that for Version 0.2

[EDIT]:

Okay Baggers. I'm going to start working on 2 new settings so you can set the frame rate for the particles and the starting speed

It looks real nice, but one little thing. You really need to organise your icons.

Well... I could do that or put tabs in the top of the toolbar so you got a section with gravity settings and another section with other settings ETC. That way i could make the toolbar smaller and nicer.

If your think the other way would be better(Moving the icons some pixels i could do that )

I will make after what this community thinks the best
So please post your thoughs

Thanks!

Also i'm started writing a User-Guide that will follow with the new version.
