To those who are interested, due to a lack of promising (as in enough to cover the hotel charge) attendance outlook for the NH convention, ZKAT8IT and I are planning on a possible change of location. The date is probably going to be Sat and Sun October 29th and 30th, unless a location change does not stir up more interest.

If you are interested in a US convention at this date, please help us out by explaining what areas would work for you

Blog is death. How? NO idea. But is murder. REVENGE!

why not host it here in flordia? suns out, hotels are cheap(hard to believe i know), no hurricanes on the horizon, and plenty of places to rent out for events such as this. I just got back from a tea kwan do tournament hosted in an hotel rent-out room. Really, Can you resist flordia? Plus, wouldnt we all love to see this almost inhuman thing that calls itself "sagetech"?

If you're so smart, why are you reading my post?

Is Florida a bit far south east?

Some place more in the center would probably be better. Ohio seems to sound best so far of the suggestions given.

Yeah personally, Ohio would be best imho

For a few reasons, Its more central to the people who already plan on going, more central then Manchester, NH because at least that way, it would cut most travel times in half, maybe even more. I know it would cut Zkat's travel time down by 95%

You would get to visit Columbus, Ohio Home of the bucks

THe convention center I posted is rather large, Lots of food courts, three or more floors of open space ^_^ lots of room to roam around and whatnot.

Look into it Plus, I betcha we could all just stay in the convention center over night, I know thats what we did at Marcon 40, Just slept in the rooms

Illinois . Specifically, Chicago would work well, but Springfield or Rockford etc would be fine if it's easier for any reason.

Then I'd be able to come . No way I could convince my parents to send me to NH.

Also, it right by Canada! and we ALL love Canada(points at jeku)! aaandd, as much domino's pizza as you can eat on me!

How about in California, the Disneyland hotel. That would be awesome. 99% chance I'll forget to consider going though.

Nobody is supposed to live in that part of Canada, its just supposed to be a waste of space

I liked your approach:

Quote: "Nobody is supposed to live in that part of Canada, "

But you shanked it on the follow through:

Quote: "its just supposed to be a waste of space"

If it's in Ohio there's a 99.9% chance I'll be there. The dates are also fine as far as I'm concerned. I remember a long while back a poll was taken, and there seem to be a lot of Ohio'ans and Pennsylvanian DB'ers. Be sure to make a post at LLRGT as well.

If it's in Ohio, and at the right time, you may even have a chance to assassinate ME, as its only like a 13 hour drive or something, and my sis lives down by Ackron.

[EDIT] Just noticed the dates, if there are any holidays around then(drawing a blank) I may be able to go(if in Ohio).

Why not Alanta, Georgia? It's the center of the USA, travel wise, and only four hours from where I am... or perhaps Charlotte? Second biggest business city in the USA, or perhaps the first, can't remember actually..

Ooooorrrr you can just have it in my backyard. Bistromathamatic drives, in order that you might get there in time, will be supplied via media mail.

Yeah at ZKAT8IT's house! Ok on a more serious note

I'm on the east cost and would be able to get to it 100% if it is a state or two away from NY. I would even be able to do a FL trip if I must.

NY, PA would be great and I can jump on a bus for cheap.

Otherwise, I really would like to go, but take lots of pictures and notes b/c I would love to hear all about it.

If this was planned further in advanced there would be more chance yet...

Cheers

Why not in Albuquerque, New Mexico? The hotel/motel rates are cheap here compared to other cities, and plus we have nice weather here.

I say in Nashville, TN. they have the Gaylord Convention Center or Municipal Auditorium, or maybe the Opryland Hotel.

Look into it, I can leave work and come right over there, and it is in the middle, so...

What do you think?
