Now that's what I'm talking about! The shootout at the end was great. It was really intense too. God knows it's easy to make, but it still rocked!

Would you kindly look away from the screen when you're in my presence?

I feel so left out... I was too scared to go the first few steps on the first one. Especially after reading:
Quote: "In the interest of public responsibility, Umbra contains some content unsuitable for younger or easily offended audiences. So don't come crying to us when you can't sleep, or trying to sue us when your child starts throwing scissors at people."

Anyways the screenshots do look interesting i must say. Is there anything really scary in this game!

It has not been released yet and I am sure Butter fingers will release it when he is ready...
We don't have a deadline system around here unless you are entering a contest or something like that.
To do the kind of stuff Butter fingers does takes time.

Great! I loved the first one, so much that I'd be even willing to pay to play the second one.

Wow! Thanks people.

I'm not going to get into too much Hyping of this. I think part of the great thing about the first umbra was that it just appeared. BAP!

Johannes M

Dude, I'm sorry you never played it, it's not hugely terrible, it just features some "sounds of a sexual nature" and therefore I thought I should warn people.

Bond
Dude, I would be very interested to chat to you, as I am in the process of creating a new biped and am hitting a few issues, glad you liked the first game, I'm considering selling this version (very cheap though maybe a few pounds a pop?)

I've been playing with the video and decal effects since last night (bed a t 4am, up at 6am!) I'm pretty tired right now but there are some sections of the new episode that look....AMAZING!

The first game was very awesome. I just didn't like the end shooting sequence because it got repetitive real fast.

Can't wait for this one!

thanks for the interest guys....
and the mention in the newsletter!

Things have been going VERY slowly with Umbra, as I was spending every free waking hour working on the Nvidia comp, but now that that's all over I'll be getting back to Umbra. Probably about 60% done at the moment. The level is fully mapped out, and all the assets are ready to be put in, then it's just the GUI, and I'm ready to roll!

Lets say, should be done by the end of January.

More screens coming soon.

I was thinking about making a game like Umbra last year but I didn't. I played the first one and boy was it kick anus! Can you tell me how you did those effects? Like things floating, fake walls that you can walk through and all the goodies. I was just gonna make a nightmare game so me and my friends could play it. I wasn't planning on selling it.

Email me at rdali3n@yahoo.com

THANKS

Eww. Stop.

You just right click the entity and change IsImmobile to yes, and I think maybe physics on to no.

Fake walls are just decals / overlays tht are placed like a wall.

A 'moaning' sound could come from :

1. A gruesome animal salivating in a dense dark forest
2. A critically injured soldier dying in the heat of a battle
3. A cute 3-legged 1-eyed pink alien stubbing his toe on the table leg
4. A woman...er....you know...pleased at the sight of a diamond necklace

How do you define which is which?

Butters, the link for Umbra number one is broken. Is there any other place I can get Umbra (the first one) from?

Well I've had sucess with floating crap but I want to know how you made the rooms so dark but yet I could still see the sink and stuff like it was lit. That effect rocked.
