My post is niether positive nor negitive. Do not look at it as either.
This is okay, for a first, but please learn a few rules.
First off, FPSC Default AI is bad, very bad. I am not saying make your own, but find some AI that works well. I think there may be one or 2 in there.
Second Off, the defaults for the weapons suck, just as the defaults for enemy health suck. But I don't know how powerful, or dis-powerful you made both the weapons and/or the enemys. I do know that it wasn't that good. You are seeking to ballance the weapons and enemys, in this type of game you don't want humanistic enemys, but tough enemys, however, that still means that at LEAST 15 automatic rounds kill someone.
Third Off, the players health should be your primary concern. Apart from the underpowered weapons, I found that losing health is very easy, no matter what you do. Unfortunatly, the little health you give back is hardly enough to quench my low health.
Fourth off, I do understand that this is your choice, but the shere number of weapons provided is insane. First you start me off with a mossburg, then I get a pistol which is better (moss=20 dammage, pistol 25+faster reload) then I get a tommy, then a shotgun, then a MP-40, then a rocket launcher. And somewhere in between... some gernades... Try to limit the plrs selection of weapons to a select few, or at least introduce them over time.
Fifth, Please play your game thoughly. You seriously lag because you use strait hallways. Doors do NOTHING to stop polyrendering, remeber that, to reduce lag put in cuts and jaggs every 8 tiles or so, More so if you are opening into a big room. Belive me, it is not fun to play in slow motion.
I would say pretty good with everything else. You have some high grade music going on there, and it loads at apropiate times, small clusters of enemys (unlike some people who will put 20 enemys in 1 spot) with... a working tank? I do regret that you don't have enough voice acting to propperly portray what happens in this game... The story is so unexplained as it goes on.
Next time remove weaponglow and ammoglow with weapon and ammo...
I know my post sounds harsh, but it does consit of well placed advice. A Colt should not be more powerful then a rifle, just as a tommy shouldn't take the whole clip to kill. And weapons should be slowly introduced, extends the gameplay feeling, and you get the weapons when you need them. I seek to help the ways I can. If those ways are a little harsh, take pride in the fact that it is me who is broken, not you.
