Just started messing with X10 so please excuse the 'newbie' questions (no X10 Community Guide see). How do you get a character to follow a waypoint and still exhibit DarkAI? I've tried putting 'follow.fpi' in the Main and while it does follow the waypoint, that's all it does, even if I stand in front of it shooting. Sometimes it just walks on the spot.

Any help appreciated.

What was the point of that? Trying to be clever won't help at all will it?

Anyway, I was going to post but I got lazy.

The only way to make entities follow the way points (if you are doing characters) is by setting their type to neutral.

Try doing that and let us know if it works

Just tried that but now he walks on the spot and doesn't react when he sees me / gets shot. I'm using Ulysses by the way.

I haven't tried it much cos I'm not at that point yet, but all I"ve gotten were the same results; only neutral characters seem to follow waypoints. Which is a bit weird because I would have thought we would want to be able to have enemies that'd act as guards in the inevitable stealth part...

A picture says a thousand words.

There is a bug at the moment with the darkAI follow commands in X10 you should be able to let enemies do it as well. I have recently realised that it doesn't work on neutral or ally either in newest versions.

But with older versions do this should work fine might work on new versions but not sure depends on your pc:

Do this:

Alignment: Neutral
At Start: Patrol Area

Items to set if that doesnt work: might work did for me once x10 is a bit of messing around at the moment.

If see: No action
If triggered: No action

If that doesn't work then i would report it as a bug as now it doesn't work for me either.

So... You have messed up your FPS Creator again - The dreaded words are back

I'm pretty sure making characters follow waypoints in X10 turns them into a walking piece of scenery. It's been this way ever since development when DarkAI was added. I guess they felt the tradeoff was worthwhile.

I'd rather have working waypoints though - allies mean nothing to me. In fact I hate ALL games that have allies in them, but it's the trendy thing right now I guess.

I hate how you have to control your allies. I wish there was a way that you could just have allies fight by themselves or follow waypoints and then have one or two allies that follow your command.
