This is a little game I did for the mini-competitions going on over in the DBP forum.

Its a simple game. Move the mouse to tilt the board. You will regularly fart Mines every 1.5 seconds. The mines give you 3 seconds to before they go live. The mines start with the same "properties" as you have when you fart them (ie position and speed). This mean you have to change heading before you can move.

This game is currently media free and I am probably going to try to keep it that way.

I currently have a high score of 43.

This is still WIP, more features are going to be added (like an online high scoreboard ).

Comments MORE than welcome.

Cheers guys

Edit: Replaced code with a link to the project page here

PS: The tilting techinque of offsetting and orienting the object was Riidii's idea. Cheers

EDIT: For those interested - I'm up to 78 Farts (in one sitting)!

Yeah, but how far did you get in the game?

This has potential.

Just played it on a slow laptop, highlighted a couple of things:

The player kept going outside the arena, looks like the collision detection is lagging. The "farts" also go outside the arena.

Because my lappy is slow (about 5 FPS), I could avoid the "farts" simply due the lag. I think you need to do some raycasting collision to see if it hit anything along the path. It only seems to be testing where it SYNCS, and not in between.

yeah thats a problem I'm aware of.

It only checks for collisions once its moved somewhere.
I'm thinking that it COULD try collision detection on a predictive basis..

EG:

you know the average FPS is 5. Therefore you know the average frameTime. You therefore know how much you will be moving over the next frame. If this puts you outside the arena, then you can play with numbers to work out the exact time the collision would take place then move the player for the remainder of the time (ie frameTime - estimatedTimeToImpact) and use that to move the player away from the wall..

The OTHER option is to make sure your PC can do more than 40fps Hehe..

Cheers for the comments - I'll get onto that.

For those following this thread, there has been an update to the game. Its mainly cosmetic, but there are some background improvements to the spawning efficiency and there is also a new HUD.

Please try this - I am very interested in how I can improve it. I already have a suggestion from BatVink for some improvements on the physics collisions.
I am going to do online scoring. Still thinking about how to make this secure. I'm thinking MD5 encryption within a PHP script and the like.. I dont want people just uploading false fart counts..
Menu - This NEEDS to be done. Currently you have to quit and reload to restart!
Sounds. Anyone any good at making fart sounds? Mine tend to be silent and violent.. If someone could let rip on their microphone, I'd much appreciate it
ANYTHING else to make this an even cooler game. I really enjoy it. Its rare that I like playing my own games (I am a really picky person).

So come on people get downloading and let me know what you think!!

Also, here is a screeny to keep you intrested
