Keep it up, dude. Lots of nice 'little' plugins there, for when you need a feature or two.

Hi David, i`am not quite sure what you mean, but if you are
talking about displaying your game over the top of your desktop icons etc, then i dont think its a good idea in terms of streching and speed problems. Lets face it you dont see many games that use that method of coding. But the answer is yes it can be done.

x1b:- The icons / logos are all taken from classic games / demos, The Swastika and stars `n` stripes were taken from castle wolfenstien.

I have put all the logos on my site in good fath for people to use,
and just like horror vids they exist but you are not forced to watch them. If i get one more complaint it i WILL remove it right away.

The old Swas has several variations and has been around for 100s of years long before the natzi party used it, its just a logo nothing more.

cheers... Snowy

it might be easier to take a screen of the desktop before starting the program... and use that as the background somehow...

And the word "N*gger" is Latin for Black. Doesnt make it ok to sport publicly. However,as you say,it isnt your work.

Anyway, that being said, damn some of these are nice..

Great dll's.

One question though. Some other forum members have made dll's in the past but they cheated slightly by requiring enduser has .Net installed. Do yours? - and are you confident compiled exe will run on most Windows Versions, mainly XP,2000 and 98 - not too bothered about win ME.

Thats One Nice DLL List you got going there...

I Don't like Using all that "DarkSide_???_???", So I've Shortened it Into Several Functions.

No ClipBoard Use Now, The Functions Simply Return The Value:
IE: File$ = GetRequestedFile()

I've Also Altered Some Others to Make it Easier to UnderStand, (For Me Anyway)
IE: OpenFileSelector(Title$,Path$,Ext$,ExtString$) or ShowMessageBox(Title$,Contents$,Style)

I Don't know if its just me, But the Folder Selector Seems to Crash DBPro

MSon:- This i what i do myself, functions keep things tidy.
sorry about the long command names, but this is so i dont use the
same command name twice and make my own head fart... lol.

Lost in Thought:- I have made a lot of small Dlls so the compiler only uses the dlls your program needs. Saving you some bytes off your
final exes. Not only that if i find a bug in a Dll then it is easy to fix the problem, kind of like carring all your money around i a wallet
will make it easy to loose it all, where with a pocket full of change you may just loose a quid!!!! lol.

just caught your newest (the input requester) it is ok, it would be great if you added release dates in parantheses (these things "()") just so people could know when the dll was releasead.

David iz cool:- The dlls are that small that downloading them is
very quick, a second or two for each dll even at 54k dialup.
so why not just try them and see for yourself?

Spooky, I am shocked at this statement, and especially that it comes from you. I don't want to take this thread off it's topic so you can email me if you like but I would like to know how requiring the end user to have .net installed, because a dll was written in .net, thus requiring the MS .NET runtime assemblies be installed, is "cheating" ?

On Topic: Nice dll's - keep up the good work

I had an idea about this a while ago. When you run your program, take a screenshot of the desktop then use that as the backdrop. If done right, people wouldnt know the difference.

@Zerk - look at the desktop dll on his site. Lets you take a snapshot of desktop. You can then use it as a background image for use in a screensaver or whatever. It's really good.

@CattleRustler - LOL! Anyone would think I was having a dig at your wonderful dlls! All I was asking is if the end user needs .net installed to run his dlls. Looks like you don't. With broadband and WinXP I suppose .net is installed on a lot of pcs now, so even you dlls will work. I would be miffed at writing a game than relies on .net being installed on enduser pc, then people moaning it doesn't work. It's going to be bad enough explaining the whole DirectX 9.0c thing.

There's already people confused about it, saying they have 9.0c installed, but then we have to say you need a newer version of 9.0c - stupid system.

Yeah but .NET is different, there isnt a sub series of the Major.Minor version values. its 1.0, 1.1, 2.0 - Any app or dll coded in and compile in .net will require the matching version Framework be installed on the machine, so when the user runs the exe or dll it will be JIT compiled to machine code from whatever assemblies are/were referenced. I still don't understand the use of the term "cheat". But anyway, no worries.
