Yes, this is something I would like to know too. It gets VERY annoying, and looks VERY unperfessional on my part.

When FPSC gets good enough, lets make a Redwall game!

Probally will be taken out in Riker 9. This is because Lee is using the... command... to set the programname to FPSC... it is a single line, and is unneeded.

Actually FPSPack hides it.
FPSPack doesn't provide any such info for the EXE the Game gets packed in.
So, it appears to be gone.

Don't forget the License that was with the Product.
You are required to mention FPS Creator and TGC in your Game's Legend.
Page 95 of the PDF Manual points this out.

A Legend is usually fine print that no one reads anyway, but its required, so don't forget.
That's really about the only thing the License does require you to do.
I don't mind giving them a "shout out", its the least I can do.
I'll do it in the Legend though as required.
I use FPSPack too.

but it doesnt say you have to keep that in there with the company...

i know a tool that will change it for you...but i dont know if i should post the link...

changing FPSC ltd to your name...would...in a sense be taking credit for the engine...so i dont know if i should.

i will try to get some clarifacation first...

[edit]

also...if you just recompile in dbpro...you can change it to anything you want...

but im not sure that allowed...

Well I don't see why not. Lee said there would be "no" evidence that you used FPSC to make it. But I think he took that back somewhere, or explained it away.

The only rule to hex-editing is that you've got to keep the file length the same otherwise you run into problems.

As a basic example (not using any real code here)

If, though, you change the title to...

Notice how where our code is supposed to start, we now have "Lolli-Pop Kids", which isn't the first line of executable code at all. The computer gets confused and the program most likely crashes.

I've succesfully changed the name, it just has to be the same length as the original so you don't overwrite something vital. It appears to be in a non-critical section of FPSC-GAME, just before the "PADDING" area.

So if you want to change the name displayed while it is running, it has to be the same length, but it's possible.

Example:

Can be changed to:

I've been busy Gulli, sorry it's taken so long. Here it is. I compressed it in a zip file. The size is a little over 4MB.
