There are 2 videos, of parasites, and bugs. Basically, the parasite will make the insect kill itself (commit suicide).

It's just sort of odd... And creepy. So, I decided to share it with you guys!

But the cricket was killed by some form of worm... and it definitely wasn't the same as the fungus in the second video - I really want to know what that worm is, since I'm sure I've seen something like that before

Oh, I love that snail one. The fact that it infects a snail to be ingested by a bird, just to be crapped out all over the place to infect more snails. Crazy and very interesting.

I wonder if I could simulate that parasite-worm-movement effect in dbp... That was creepy though how the snail just kept on changing colors..

My favorite doco recently was some species of spiders get a lift into the jetstream over the pacific ocean and basically float 10000kms over to the usa. nature is one trippy place.

So Db user do you meen some kinda sim parasite? I like it keep working on it. Fear nothing and seize the night by Dean Koontz have tons of sceenes like this. Granted some of weirdness is lost in that it's not real but I still had a hard time sleeping when I read them.

It's not a matter of what you believe, it's a matter of what younger member's parents believe. There's probably nothing wrong with spiders on drugs, but you have to understand that there are people out there that do not share you beliefs and you must also be aware that if you bring things to certain places that have restrictions on what is allowed and what's not (take this site for example) then actions can be taken against you.

I was only sharing my beliefs, I never said I would do anything against this websites restrictions and boundrys.

In either case, I do feel that showing anything drug related would offend some parents out there. And after all, this is meant to be a "family safe" sort of forums, so, I wont show anything like that.

So, anyways... Enjoy what is there!

Just to remind you all, there is a fireworks factory explosion there, I couldnt hear any sound when I played it, so if there is profanity, I am terribly sorry.

Yes. The parasite (I think) was controlling the snails mind, to help it reproduce more copies of itself. Sort of like a computer virus.

I cant believe the bird ait the snail! If I saw a snail like that, I would take a picture (or 2), then kill it! No parasites are allowed near me, damnit!

Here's what I know.
-It's called Taxoplasma gondii
-It can affect thousands of species but can only feproduce in cat's
-In humans it can cause skitzofrenia
-It affects boys more than girls
-It can double your chance of having a car accident
-It causes rat's to seek out cat's so they'll be eaten
-And after re-reading the article I realised It just said it's a microbe it didn't specify a kingdom. If it's a bacteria then anti-bacterial is always a safe bet but if it's a proazoan I don't know what can be done.

That's a different parasite, this one control's the snail to point where it becomes bird bait and well the snail's fate is for the bird to decide.
