@ Phlum

Thanks. Yea, I uploaded the game a little too early. I guess I too fast on the draw. I thought I had tested it but it doesn't appear that I did very well. Instead of using TGC server space and bandwidth, here is the updated version.

Initially the nose goes quite slow. Then after catching the nose, there is a choice of retaining the current speed or speeding it up. When you start the game over, it should now be more consistent. The choices are either a left or right click of the mouse button. OK here are the downloads:

EXE File - 3.6 MB

ZIP File - 1.45 MB

Sorry about that! Wish I'd be more careful - and I hope that I have used the link code correctly here since there is no chance to preview before I post.

As opposed to Highlander.

Looks like very few people are interested in this. However, I am hoping -- if I have time and can learn FPS Creator fast enough (also if I can get it soon enough since I just ordered it) -- to do something for the grade school crowd.

This game would be a 3D game in the first person style. The premise again would be that someone had stolen Bozo's red nose and the child would go searching through different places trying to find it. They may encounter various obstacles and various point gathering goodies.

One major difference is that it would not be a "shooter" game for this one. Although, a shooter game would be kind of neat then for the teenagers.

As opposed to Highlander.

You shouldn't need to post it here, just email it to Rick V

I haven't got to work on my game yet (Darn!) but I hope to do it this weekend and then get it to you on Sunday. Well that's what I hope will happen anyway.

FPSC can't really be used because of the size of games with it and the age rating. An alternative would probably be Game Maker or something like that. It depends on the terms and conditions about whether you can sell games with the program too so I don't know what is good or bad to use.

Yea, I feel like a jerk.

Just got FPSC. You can make something smaller than 50MB but I did find out that you reach a point where it doesn't matter how small, the minimum seems to always be 12.7 MB. I wasn't planning on doing a full fledged FPS game. Oh well. I'm glad I got FPSC, anyway. Didn't get it just for this.

As opposed to Highlander.

I've given in my entry. It's a game where you push red, green and blue balls into boxes of the same colour. I haven't got a reply saying it's been received though and as Rich never got my emails about AGE I'm wondering if Rick has received this one.

Rick is tied up with other things at the moment, but I'm confident he's passing them on to the right people. It might just take a while to get back to individuals.

Hi Guys,

Consider my silly hat well and truely stuck on my head for Saturday morning. I have just finished my little red nose game in less than three hours I love writing little games! A screenshot is attached, though it might scare you!

I call my game, the 'Red Nose Game Maker'. Not only can you play a fun hand-eye co-ordination game, but you can also use pictures and create your own game with the program.

If anyone wants to submit a 640x480 photo of themselves to lee@thegamecreators.com over the weekend, I can add them to the program and you can become famous on red nose day The photo needs to be your own copyright, and it must show your nose, otherwise it will not be compatible with the 'red nose game maker'.

Have fun making your games this weekend! I am off for a bit of a sleep, before charging headlong into the land of code and pizza And maybe nip over to Oblivion for a visit

I knew about both Red Nose Day and this weekend yesterday
But I will make something for the next year.

By the way, TGC could archive the games of every year, or just some of them, so the package would become more and more interesting as the years pass

Cheers.

Is it possible to extend this? Red Nose Day this year is on Friday 16th March - nearly two weeks extra grace to put together something a bit more substantial and give other users the opportunity to create something.

Even if you only extend this by a week,it would help.

We want to bundle all the games up during this coming week and then start offering them.So you have a few more days to submit games. Send them direct to me rick@thegamecreators.com or make them available for download and let me know where to grab them.

We've already had some cool entries and we hope you'll send some more.

Could we have an exact deadline/time? That way we can plan around it a bit more thoroughly than "a few more days"

Changed to have red and green noses on BatVink and Ricks advice.

I suppose you are right - It does look more Red nose dayish.

Just try and beat that GERBIL.

Anyway - Good luck with the compillation, sales and sheep.

Don't give in to Rick's demands. Sure, if you don't bother, people WILL die. But what the heck, £5 is better in your pocket than buying food, farming tools, irrigation systems, education and medical supplies.

Damn - best go buy my own game, shake off this guilt feeling
