Here is how I would do it.
Have a dummy object below your camera (this will make life easier coding as well) Just use the box for your camera position, and code it so you move the box. This way you can just have the camera right above the box, as cubes have much more versatality than just cameras.
Since you are using a cube, voila, you can now set object collision and your all set! You can also do sliding collision this way as well (if object collision(x,x)>0 then dec blah blah blah) Tricks like that make life easy
