Does DBC take note of 3D properties such as luminosity, radiance and the host of other settings? If so, which ones does it take account of?
Thanks in advance.

Nope, I dont think it does take these into account. I did a test and alpha, emmision, diffuse, specular, and power dont work. Though that doesnt mean you cant do them by using db commands .

Diffuse color, that's about it, but if you use a texture map even the diffuse element is ignored
