Hi everyone, just wanted to announce a project that me and my brother are working on. He's doing the majority of the map work and I'm making the media and models. The game is basically set in present day Russia. A mysterious explosion has occured in an area of Russia. The area is the site of a nuclear power plant and the explosion has caused a huge amount of radioactive material to be scattered around the land. You take on the role of a special operative who is sent to the zone after a group of scientists failed to return. On the way an RPG rocket hits the chopper you and your team are travelling in. The helicopter crashes and you arethe only survivor. You must now try and escape from the zone while opposing the Russian special forces and other horrors caused by the radiation.

First screenshot, with custom hills and barrel textures

Very nice models, congrats.
I like them both BUT I think the building looks a bit odd and graphically strange.

Very nice job.

Lol, thanks the building's just there because I made the mistake of building that section of the map near the edge, so it's just there to stop the player from falling off the edge of the map.

Again, looks nice but the light you placed has no apparent source (at least from this angle).

Looking great, man. I agree with bdgbdg (that's an insane name to spell). You should add like a lamp or something.

Thanks

About the light. I have the ambience set quite low just to set the mood as dull. Problem is, Ambient light does not cast any shadows so I have added a few lightmaps around the scene to create shadows. I'll add some lamps and stuff as soon as possible.

New screenshot. This is work in progress. Me and my brother are aiming to make everything in the game custom. The weapon will eventually be replaced. Most of the textures are photographs edited a bit to make them seamless. Hope you guys like the screenshot...

Yep, weapons will be custom. I am currently working on an Ak-101. We are also using some media from model packs and the sprite pack.

Thanks. The grass is a doubled faced plain. The grass strands are on a black background and the transparency is set to 1 in the FPE file.

Feel free Oh, and you will need this FPI script. Right click your grass entity and for "appear" specify this script. The script turns off the entity's collision so you can walk through it like real grass. Thanks FredP for the script

Here's the FPI file as well...

Slayer222, yeah I think it does. FPSC always filters out true black (0,0,0)

Thanks DarkFact

Right now I'm texturing the AK-101. I'll have a render bu the end of the day, so keep watching this thread.

Sweet AK-101 maybe you could add a grenade launcher under the barrel simalar to the M203? I love that gun in BF2 as well. I do all my textures in paint though so true black dosn't turn invisible

Really nice, congrats. But one thing, on the middle right side the player will be able to see the end of the world, so that fence cannot be used like that. Just warning.

Apart from that, I find amazing you're trying to make everything custom.

Thanks bdgbdg, I'll bear that in mind. Not everything will be custom but the majority will. That stock fence for one will stay because I like it and things like crates and barrels will just be re-textured. If I see that I need something then it will be made. Thanks again.

Uhh, the hand has fingers, LOL. A thumb.

Yeah, can you make the hands 'dirty' and more army-looking, like torn sleeves and gloves?

And, can you add these weapons, too?:

M16A3
M203
M3A1 Grease Gun
Beretta M9
H&K USP

It pretty depends on what country you're in in the game.
