I need some help please. If I build an indoor level and make it an .x file, I assume I have to turn off collision, just like using an .x file skybox, since the camera is inside the object. However, if I do this, how do I set up collision for the walls? Or am I missing something here....

Actually,you're adding there...

What I mean is there's no collisions as long as you didn't either coded it or called the built-in coll. functions.k?

You can use static collision boxes or the .dll that's floating about, make arrays containing collision coordinate info and use simple math collision functions... So many options.

But yes turn off object collision for the .x object.

Also post this kind of question in the relevant forum and you can get more language-specific responses...

ZX Spectrum 48k Issue 3, Radio shack Tape drive, Rank arena 12" T.V. set.

I wrote some code for DBPro to be able to just load a .X model and walk around it with sliding collision. It's not 100% accurate on sliding, but you can't walk through the object. I posted the code and example in the snippets forum.

If it's DBC, then you'd have to use the DLL or find a really inventive way with memblocks.

I also posted a DLL in the general forum titled "Need those .x objects for sliding collision? Heres how!"

You can use 'Intersect object' to write your own custom collision routines too!

Did that Go to the CODE SNIPPETS section and I posted "Sliding Collision Made Easy" which is 2 functions that set up sliding collision in a snap!
