I have found some and have learnt a bit about the subject, but they really don't go into much detail about why the equations that they give are so, much of the stuff I have learnt is by looking at the equations and working out what they mean for myself.

My current GCSE text book only touches on vectors and matrices and what they are, but nothing about geometry really. I would be really grateful if anyone could give me addresses for good websites that really explain in easy terms, the basics of 3D maths.

Thanks

Might help.

If you really wanted you could buy an A-Level textbook. It would give more depth than GCSE, but not necessarily enough.

One thing you may want to look for is A-Level Maths, i look at geometry and algebra at A-Level even though i am at GCSE, i find GCSE a bit too easy, although there is always one Q in the higher exam that kills me for example:

V = S + (SRT/100)

Make S the subject, anyone know?

PS i do know the answer after 2 hours of number crunching

After 5 minutes came up with:

S=100V/(RT+100)

Explanation for those that really wany to know:

V=S+(SRT/100)

V-S=SRT/100

SRT=100(V-S)

SRT=100V-100S

SRT+100S=100V

S(RT+100)=100V

S=100V/(RT+100)

I thought I had it but then I realised that...

SRT/100 <> S/100+R/100+T/100

Oh well, thanks for your help.

hehe

In an exam situation it takes too long to do all the steps required.

I went through it the way i had been taught, but it did not work as my method started getting too complicated.

Anyhowz i still passed top of year for the mock

Mentally I skipped quite a few of the stages which sonic posted, I went straight to stage 4, not a good idea in the exam though. Just getting from the penultimate to the final stage had me confused for a moment. Yes, tricky one that.

Still, this year the mock exam was apparently a lot more difficult than in previous years - 62% was an A* !! (using Edexcel's sample paper). I wonder how much higher it will be in the real thing (I would have thought at least 80%, more likely 85%)

It all depends on how you see the problem.

I find it easy to viuslise some algebra and not other stuff.

V = S + (SRT/100)
V - (SRT/100) = S
S = V - (SRT/100)

Was looking pretty good to me...
