This is an IPTV System which allows you to watch TV Channels, MediaStreams and VOD's.
It can be controlled by Keyboard or "Windows Media Center Remote"

SEE ATTACHED DOWNLOAD
Last Update was Saturday 09-06-07

To start the App Run "MSon Media/MSon Media.exe"

I recommend a MINIMUN of 2mb BroadBand
Minimum Desktop Resolution = 1024x768, Recommended with 1280x1024

NEW CONTROLS




The Now/Next Feature is currently disabled as When I add this, I would need to update a TVGuide regurley for Every Channel.

If you find a Problem, Fault or Bug, or have an idea on how to improve this programme then please post it here so I can correct the problem...

I got two errors. On MSon Media.exe, I got "could not load bitmap at line 242", and on the web.exe, I got "could not load bitmap at line 300". Darn

I'm currently adding a new window, (Picture Below), This will allow you to select which channels from a list you want to use, IE, a "Edit My Channel List", I'm doing this so you can select Channels from your country only, It also allows you change the Channel Orders to what you want

Ho yes, I found a Site with HUNDRED OF CHANNELS which Im currently in the process of adding, But id still suggest "The Tom Green Channel" because the Chad is great

Never knew Tom Green had a channel I bet he just makes fun of his parents all day

Anyway, I've never seen anything like this been done before, on a computer, let alone DarkBasic. Good job!

I FORGOT TO WARN YOU
This required a Minimum Desktop Resolution of 1024x768, (Due to Display Size), But I use 1280x1024, (looks better), You can make the DataDisplays SemiTransparant by messing with the AVI Setting, (I think you need to set "High Video Quality" On), But this causes the data window on my PC to Flicker, (Maybe as my PC is old)

Im off work most of this week so i want to get the app as completed as pos, with FTPUpdating for channels, VOD Capable, MyChannelList, Ect

MSon - this is one of the coolest things I have seen done with DBP yet. Could you apply the video as a texture to a 3D object? if so, that could be pretty cool to incorporate a 3d interface for something like this.

That's pretty good. Just about hangs together but once you have a proper gui and controls then it will be much better.

You should make it so that files can be ran from any folder. Why does everything have to be in C:\MSon_Media ???

If I run off folder on desktop you get loading errors. Surely you have not used actual paths in LOAD commands. They should all be relative commands.

Also maxing out cpu to 100% is not best thing. Look at the SYNC SLEEP command that turns application into a windows friendly program.

I've altered it for any path...
is it SYNC SLEEP 1 at the start of the app as i've not used this command before.

I won't be able to post a new version till the morning as i'm attached to a neighbours wireless at the moment, (low speed), but i can still update the channel list. when you start the app it will automatically add any new channels to the F2 Window.

Yeah, just put SYNC SLEEP 1 after SET SYNC and/or SYNC RATE lines.

Frame rate will be much lower but for playing video should be just fine.

Worth giving it a go anyway. Don't wany to blow up any ones pc by running cpu at full pelt whilst watching tv!

it dint work for me I just see the weird ie symbol..

Never mind I found the proplem.. My zone alarm blocked it..

WTF!!!

Found ultra weird thing..

1. Open the IPTV..
2. Go watch some channel..
3. Press Prt Scrn
4. Paste it into paint..
5. WTF!!!



And look this.. I tried save the paint project.. (Click view button below) WEIRD!

Ye, I noticed that problem before
it makes it difficult to do a screenshot of it in use
You can get around this by messing with the Settings, something like (High Quality Video on)

Its using Blue with DBPro
I made a function call StreamMediaToWebGadget(Gadget,ShowControls,ShowStatusbar,ShowDisplay,MediaURL$)

The function writes the appropriate HTML to file, Then loads it in the WebGadget

EDIT: I think i just found a fault, When you change the order of your channels, it does not always recognise it, I will take a look at this
and Sorry I didn't add any more channels last light, But i was working on the now/next functions

Definatly too much for me to do a now and next for them all
and Still got hundreds to go

Not sure about subtitles, although there are a few channels which are in english, With Subtitles automatically showing, (Like Beijing TV, (a Movie Channel))

Sorry there isn't more in this update, But i was busy adding channels today and kind of nodded off on me keyboard

Most off the ones i added where american, dont you think America has a lot of junk on TV?
Im from the UK so im just annoid that I pay a licance for BBC1 and BBC2, Even if i didn't have a TV, I Would still need a licance to watch TV online, Even though BBC1 and 2 are not available online

Yep, All i need is a Url to the Media Stream to add a Channel
I've got a Digital TV USB Stick thing for my PC, But half the time my PC can't find it, So i thought, "to hell with this, i'll just make my own TV App"

EDIT:
The next update should be the last one you need as im putting an AutoUpdate system built in
It will also fix the problems with mychannels and Channel Order.
Im at work at the moment so i will post it later tonight.

If you mean from an arial, then no, Its all done over the internet.
If it comes up with an errormessage saying "MSon Media was Unable to Connect", Then it was unable to connect to FTP to get the online Channel List, This happens with me when my router is turned off, or if the signal is too low.

Wirelss maybe, I have a Wireless, and I have that problem if the signal is too low.

Im going to try using this code from the forum to see if its more reliable than using FTP Commands, as even though the DBPro FTP Commands don't work if the signal is too low, I can still access the web so this may fix it, (Hopfully)


Edit:
This might sound cheaky, but could anyone do a LOGO that would fit this app, I dont like the windows simble, but I can't do 2D Artwork
I need something to replace this on the splash

I had that problem before when I was editing a video. Maybe it's a Windows glitch or a codec issue.

LiveTVUK is a subscription service, and uses Windows Media Streaming v10 (supports HD). Might be something to do with it
Still great find.

Oh, if you like I could create the logo and interface graphics for you. Give it a nice professional polish

That would be cool, I've altered it now so you can pick from a choice of skins, but i've only got that blue one, and a brown some, (Which is the same, but with inverted Colors)

I thought i nearly had Sky 1, I could still add the URL, but not much point is there.
And why do i have to pay for BBC 1+2 Twice? arn't all UK Citizans already forced pay a licance fee for them channels?

reason it's off of Virgin Media (which unfortunately i'm stuck with for a couple more months til my contract runs out) is because they got into disputes over license fees.

Virgin didn't want to pay 3p more per customer, for the non-premium Sky channels. You can still get SkySports and SkyMovies.
Annoyed me that they did this, given they were halfway though the last series of Stargate

For the moment I'd suggest making sure the application works alright, then later if it becomes popular offer a subscription service for those wanting channels like SkyOne. Although I am confused about why the BBC(UKTV) channels aren't free given we pay our license fees is a bit beyond me when other channels we normally have to pay for are out for free. That said who cares, the only thing good on BBC1 is Dr Who, and on BBC2 is Top Gear. Only reason I watch them anyway.

How can I tell if the BlueWindow has been Minimized, and how can I automatically Restore it?
Either that or How can I tel when the Minimize button has been Pressed, (It does not show in Events)

If I can get the answer to this question in the next 2 hours, (Before I go to work), then I can post the next Version now
