It would be nice to see an inventory option in this version, like in games such as Call Of Cthulhu!

I seriously hope X10 is everything it can be, because I might port my game to it when it's done and go the extra mile to make shaders, etc.

I am new to FPSC, but I am going to purchase FPSC X10.

However, I have a few questions:

1. Does FPSC X10 have a built in map/landscape creator?
2. If not, is it compatible with ones that thegamecreators have made such as 3DWorldStudio or other popular formats such as .3ds or the DirectX 10 formats?
3. Does FPSC X10 have a model/character/item creator?
4. If not, is it comatible with others and which would you suggest.

Thank you for your help.

p.s. when is FPSC X10 being released?

This is my best guess for your answers...
1. no
2. yes
3. no
4. This question has been asked a number of times. The same programs that you can model for this version of FPSC you can use for x10.Please search.

FPSC x10 will be released sometime between tomorrow and the December 31st,9999.
All joking aside there is no set date for x10 to be released and I am quite sure that they will let us know when the have a firm release date. Please search the x10 threads for more information.

I am interested in X10 however I do have some questions about it and it's improved abilities.

Multiplayer - This one is a big concern as the original wasn't exactly robust in settings/features.
Concerns are as follow
Number of Players - Original was 8 I believe, was this increased?
Maps: One per Exe, has this been increased to allow more maps per exe? Kinda seemed silly you had to start a new EXE each time to start a new map.
Dedicated Server: Would it be possible now to run a dedicated server as opposed to someone starting a server and having to play?
Game Types: Can we design and customize game types now? CTF/Team Vs./Scriptable

As for my other concerns with the original that weren't addressed, one of them was the in-game ability to change resolutions/have different resolutions such as Widescreen. I run on 1680x1050 and for me, any game that comes out must be able to run in this mode.

Last and not least, just a question on what improvements/changes made to scripting in general. I didn't really have a problem with scripting last time but I was wondering what changes were made.

All in all I really look forward to this. I was curious about Beta testing since I was one of the original testers for FPSCreator before that was released. Would there be a possibility of getting in on that or is it really too close to being released for me to help on any of that?

Inspire,
Do you think I am talking about Single player or Multiplayer?
I am referring to Multiplayer. In that you can only have one map/level per exe.

lol! I think FPSC should have: smaller file sizes, vehicles, gibbing dead bodies, large outdoor area capabilities, team options, in MP, CTF in MP, bots for MP, onslaught style for MP, need I go on? Lets not swamp TGC with to many requests OK?

File encryption is a bit much to ask for, that'd delay FPSC X10 for another few months or so, and add to another few dollars to the price as well.

Will the FPSCX10 have "double textures" on enemies??

-As, if we shoot a guy, we can see the bullets hole in his body
and maybe some blood effects on his body,
if you understand what i mean

Hey Rick (or Lee, I'm not entirely sure who to direct this post towards), I was just wondering how you achieved those glorious water effects. Did you use a flat plane with shaders, or did you use a matrix, or some other TGC witchcraft?

If you go to the WIP forum, there's an ultimate shaders pack up in the stickies. A guy called EVOLVED makes awesome shaders and his fresnel water is there, it's a brilliant effect, just a texture and normal map needed. Oh yeah, and the shader of course

Hey Rick I'm very excited for FPS Creator X10! I have a question though, can you have it so the water in the game can repeatedly rise throughout the game, like a flood or something?

@ Clone Gaming Prouductions - Thats a great idea! If it were possible to use the rising water in conjunction with a timer/countdown of some kind, you could set up a scenario where the player has maybe 2 or 3 minutes to find a way out of an area before drowning

Yes water height can be adjusted in scripts! Also, Lee plans to make the water work where ever you want it. So you can make swimming pool areas and not be limited to just one water plain.

That is awesome, just thing of the new gameplay possibitlites...having to escape a room or level in a certain amount of time to avoid drowning. That rocks.

Why not? It's really cheap! Only $165 in Australia for Home Premium.

As for the water levels, that's damn amazing! I know that when I get my 8600, FPSC X10 is the first thing i'll be buying for it.

Well, if Rick doesnt implement the more-than-one-flat-plain water thing, you can just use trigger zones and decrease and increase the water when you enter a new room

IMO file packing/encryption is essential and should be in FPSCx10 from the start whether it costs a few dollars extra or not,to leave it out is absurd given the amount of media that gets misappropriated.

does that mean you could be running down a hallway with door on either side, and as you run past them, they busrt open and water comes pouring in to smuther you as you run for your life?

No, not exactly. It means that you can simply have other water planes, a 3D-"box" like areas where water physics, graphics and effects take place, and which can then be raised or lowered (and maybe widened?).

Making something you asked would require totally different level of technology and much stronger machines to run it. Currently it could be faked by using moving game objects that look like water, like decals and/or models, while the water level is rising.

I know it has been said many times before, but I feel that I should express my agreement about it. I want to makes games to sell with FPSC X10 and that will be really hard to do without packaging and encryption features.

If we could have something that lets you create an installer with your own options and stuff like that and then have it install out of encrypted zip folder or .cab files. That means the we can distribute our games on discs.

I would be prepared to pay an extra few pounds/dollars for this functionality, or I would be prepared to pay for it as an extra (eg a plugin or add-on or something like that). I think that if it is integrated, an extra $5 or £3 would be reasonable or if separate, and extra $10 or £5 would be justified as that functionality would enable us to sell games and as we all know, the game market is VERY big and you don't have to sell many games to make a decent amount of profit!

Pity you didn't have drivable vehicles in this although I will get it just to make FPS Games, make my job easier but when you do have them I hope you have it more Battlezone/Conflicht Freespacestyle you you can get in and out and look around your vehicle and drive both in 1st and 3rd person style rather than do it itn the Chrome/Command & Conquer Renegade style in just the 3rd person only.

And be nice to have flying in it as well alsothugh I think if your making that type ogf game best to have a lot unlike the Battefield series of games, never been on the servers myself but I hear they sniper players on their own side to get into the planes oR tanks(LOL)
