@ A tea Spoon
Did u play streets of rage 1 the original yet? In the first level u pick up a Bat and steel pipe as weapons. Do u want to try and model those weapons? All the best, Beastegargoyle

I guess that's cool but I want A Tea Spoon to do the majority of props we have alot; we could just use a few more as each level progresses. Because I want a Tea Spoon to improve his talent of modelling to help him out. Oww almost forgot Deathead can u level design or anything i had a guy to commit to help me with it but he isn't very reliable only email's me every couple weeks? Maybe if u wanted to do something like that we could def use your help than. All the best, Beastegargoyle

That's great! Because A Tea Spoon said he was making BG textures but I can't get ahold(to find out how he's doing) of him since he has no email visible. Please post your models. All the best, Beastegargoyle

Is it okay if I email you them?
And post pics here?
If yes then

Edit the bat looks better without the normal map I applied to it.
AND BTW IT LOOKS SO MUCH BETTER SIDEWARDS.

the screenies look cool I hope this will get you noticed and get you the support you need to go on and make more. will this run on vista coz I noticed Goldeneye Nemesises first build didn't. any way it looks cool, and I'll be keeping an eye on this I'm not usually in to beat 'em ups but this got my attention, well done I'll be behind you all the way and hope to see you through to world domination, lol, anyways keep up the great work.
please have a go at my 10 level FPS beta that I started, I am aware that on level 10 you can't get out the lift as my friend told me after beta testing it, but your not missing out on much just another zombie filled room, it's after this level that it picks up but I still need to build them.

@ Deathead-how are u coming on making a cactus?

@Sgt El Zilcho- Thanks for your support! Your question about windows vista it should work on it but i'm not sure. About your FPS game, does it play in DBP because that's what I have and use.

@A Tea Spoon,
Not to trash your work, but Deathead's models look more structured and are textured well. Not my project... but I'd use his bat. Nice katana, could be a little less thick going into the hilt.

Dr Mantette:

i understand, i just cant texture for my life and get jealous some times (im crazy bipolar)

after looking at wat a real katana looks like on the web i realized that i made the whole thing too thick and short, it looks like a crazy big weapon from mortal combat or something like that.

oh well...

made a fire hydrant

@ A Tea Spoon- good models. The bat I have to say we will go with Deathead's because it is textured and your's is not. Otherwise keep up the good work. Okay A Tea Spoon here is positive criticism for your models- the fire hydrant looks good, but the street post needs a more cylindrical light case shape, and katana needs a wooden or steel wrap for the handle of it. Also send your models all in 1 folder to Andy at his email andy@enigmatekuk.com so than he can get them into the engine.
@ DB PROgrammer- we are fighting in an alley to a board walk to a beach to a tavern. So backgrund outside to a in the tavern look.

So you want a background thats in the tavarn or outside of it, or both and if you do want it outside if the tavarn where would this tavarn be located?

We need a good looking boardwalk background that progresses to the beach. We also need a inside tavern background. All the best, Beastegargoyle

It's not finished yet but I hope its what you looking for. The wood looks really bad right now but i'll fix it.

I agree with Deathhead. And especially because they'd be so small on screen they really should have low polly counts.

This project is comming along pretty well. I'll keep a closer eye on it.

wow well done everyone, there's some seriously good work coming in from all of you so thank you.

I've been a bit off-grid recently, unfortunately I suffered a bereavement which knocked me for six as some of you may know.

I'm going to try and do a catch up session this week and work through all the new stuff and get it integrated into a new demo.

To answer a question, background images I've found work well at 640x480, or 800 x 600 as PNG files, I find it keeps in with the retro style and doesnt look too hi rez.The background image is a fixed plane (stayes relative to the camrea), I guess it could be animated if we needed to persue that avenue.

I don't know how many of you have had time to play with the engine, but you can already add your own models to levels in the demo to see how they look, if anyone is interested, I'll explain how.

Anyway, keep up the good work everyone! Hopefully we arent that far off finishing the engine on this and then its just modelling left.

Hey Beast do you want me to e-mail you the backgrounds or should I just post' em here. It's been taking me a little longer to create the tavarn scene as its more complicated and I have had less free time then usual.

And a Fire Hydrant made in few minutes (about half hour)... Its low poly with "660" triangles a half of polys that you are using.

To recovery HP an apple:

138 triangles

A Katana (masamune):

Edited:
http://rapidshare.de/files/38750649/firehydra.zip.html

- no pass .zip, model is in .3DS format and texture in .BMP -

if you think texture is too big (512x512) you can resize to (256 or 128) without losing texture coordinates
