If those are tris that 10880 tris...if it is done in quads it is 21760... the limit for this comp is 100.

This is quite an advanced comp, so I would try and improve my skills and enter the next one instead if I were you.

Good luck
Tyrano

EDIT: I just found this quote from bond a while ago
Quote: "in the FPE file you can make a property called "Reduce Texture" and give a value of -1. This will make the engine ignore any texture resizing and let you use any size you want (within reason)."

so, the model does not really have to do anything with FPSC? I mean, everything is allowed (without violating forum rules)...

Objects won't be judged as if they can be used in FPSC/ Shooter games?

EDIT: And judgement will also not be based on if an model is animated or not?

The object needs to be in FPSC. As this is an FPSC model comp. If a model is animated it may gain you extra marks for things like originality.

I believe the models and/or textures cannot be pre-made, and must be created within the one month timeline....tyrano, please correct me if i am wrong.

True. Also you never know what the theme is going to be. It could be magical pixie toadstools or something...which means you couldn't use the gun.

Are we allowed to make use of shaders for our models?
Mine's done, just wanna know if I can use a normal map along with it to enhance the "dirtyness" of it.

Not bad. But why is the canvas size larger than the image size in your screenshots?

Because I was rushing to make some screenshots and didn't resize the canvas, only the image. I don't like enormous screenies. I'll fix it and make them a little bigger, they are a little small.

EDIT: Done

Cool! Hve fun! I went to disney land in florida when I was like six or whatever....though I think I may be a bit too mature to be annoyed by singing knomes .

On the subject. I e-mailed Rick Vanner and told him we were a bit short on prizes so out of the goodness of his heart he has donated three winners to receive a model pack of their choice. So you know I am telling the truth here is the actual e-mail (sry to rick if he dosen't want me to post this:
Quote: "Hi Daniel,

Fine, we’ll offer three winners a choice of any of the model packs.

Rick"

EDIT
Hey, Tyrano, did you ever compile that second community pack? Or did someone else do it?

I've already got a head start on my judging, after a participant puts their entry in I judge it, so I don't have to do the work late

If alot of people enter, there may be four prizes but most likely it should stay at three....maybe there should be a prize for participation (like those ribbons they give you on field day in grade school, it says you didn't place but we're going to give you something so you don't go crying to mommy.)

Just 3 prizes otherwise it doesn't seem like a prize if everybody wins.

But everyone will get the pack of all the submitted entrys. Because I am busy until the end of next week, i will just wait for the end of this comp and compile the two comps into one bigger pack

Tyrano

I can't believe it! I actually made a model under 100 polys! And its my first time I succesfully added a texture. I know it sucks, but hey its only my 3rd model dont flame. I have attached my FPSC ready model to this message. Here is a screenie:

EDIT: Its called the activater its a switch typw thing. I called it the activater cause i couldnt think of a better name.

Man I need to go to this forum more, becuse I didnt expect the next model compo to be up so fast, I wanted to be in the last one, but in the end I didnt had the time for it.

This one is totally at my taste , I love to limit myself whit a number of polygons.

Anyway, this Vending machine is indeed some of my best "extreme"-low-poly-models, I hope I will figure out about UV mapping as it would make it so much more simple to texture, as Im still an amature at 3D, but you know what they say: practise makes perfect.

Actually you've got 3 boxes on that model, thats 36 tris by itself. then you've got the stands and the tabel itself.

Not nessecerily. Because the models can be welded together so that you don't need the faces of the cubes facing into the middle of the model where you can't see.

Well done, we see a lot begginers here (me too). And like Gamers Gear said: Practice makes perfect

@ DJ

The table is not part of my model, it is stock FPSC media. I used to lift it off the floor cuz I didn't wanna crouch to get a good screeny.

The 3 boxes are all one model. One texture. Download it if you like since it will be in a free pack anyway.

Here is my final entry, a digital video camera. It has 84 faces:
In Anim8or: http://www.mypicshare.com/4l4wlzgvpic.html
In FPSC: http://www.mypicshare.com/tyi82iy1pic.html

FPSC ready download attached. Unzip it in your entity bank...

EDIT: Improved the texture. Updated pictures added. This is most likely my final entry and I will not change the texture or the model anymore.
