what do you think? Is model pack 7 a major letdown or is it a great new pack? For those of you who don't now about mp7, it's a segment pack for ww2 and scifi, only $9.99!

Apparently there's no actual in-game screenshots of anything (other than the one using the teleporters. If they want people to pre-order something, shouldn't they see what they're getting...instead of just a description? Am I not seeing them?

The screenshot they do have doesn't convince me well, I thought I knew what was coming up in the model pack range

Amen, brother. I'm sure they'll get around to putting up some screen shots. Maybe in the newsletter.

Best.

Yep, the Newsletter is right around the corner. I imagine they'll put something up in the next couple of days; they're probably swamped with work right now.

If you ask me, I don't like it too much. Some new wwii or sci-fi entities would have been nice. But this could be good, just gotta wait and see.

This looks sweet. I'm a big fan of segments that help the level itself, rather than just characters and weapons. Too bad my laptop can't run FPSC at the moment

And remember, you can retexture these, saves you building your own 'angled ramps' and 'curved ledges'.

It's released July the 8th, like it says on the Pack #7 page (If you had looked close enough). I might buy it, I might not. I've pretty much used my money on Model Pack 5(I needed some melee).

I think they should have done some actually outdoor stuff instead of more insides. I know that we can get plenty of free outdoors stuff on the net. But a Model Pack filled with flora and fauna and cliffs etc would be really awesome.

Its being released on my birthday, eh? Maybe TGC should give me it as a gift

I'll probably buy it just to see what all the new segments look like. I've bought all the other model packs, so why not this

Hi

I ordered it. It looks great. Do you need to upgrade in order to use it? I have been sticking to V1 until they get a stable update. I have hesitated to get any model packs before because of the required updates. I think I read that they fixed the other model packs for V1 users but not sure.

When I went on the website and saw 'Model Pack 7' at the top right I freaked out, but then when I took a look at it I wasn't that exicted, I would say it's a letdown, I would still buy it though, since it's only ten dollars.

While MP7 doesn't have same appeal as; say, a weapon pack, it looks as if it can open up more opportunties for level design and geometry.

However, that screenshot does't look convincing.

For some reason I was expecting something more, something to jump out at me so I could say 'wow!' but these segments just 'extend' ones that are already there, I guess this is why they are at the price they are. Don't get me wrong, they are worth it as there are quarter (semi-semi?) circles and triangles from which you can now build interesting segment shapes, but if you're looking for a pack as 'exciting' as the other models packs prepare to be disappointed.

Here are some of the models from WW2 Platforms:

and here's a shot of (animated) lava in game.

Are they worth it?
Yes as you can now create interesting segments/ rooms and they can always be re textured.

The lava's animated?Cool.

It does look very cool, I think this opens up some great new possibilities in level design.

Oh, by the way, I didn't think it was out yet.(Today is July 6th, the main page shows release for July 8th, but you have it already?)

If games were realistic, we'd have a run away option in FPS games, and RPGs with dead people who stay dead, etc.
Lol.

I thought it came out on the 8th, obviously it's out before! lol. The animation of the lava is the lava texture goes round in a circular path (not like a spinning top, more like a coin in a cup, if you know what I mean), it might of been better in a flowing motion.

The 8th is on sunday, weekend. TGC don't work on weekends so they probably released it early for people who have already ordered it, so they don't have to wait until monday.

Wow. I am in no way or form going to get that model pack. The only reason I might buy it is to check it out. It looks terrible, in my opinion.

...........

There is no point at all, to buy model pack 7. I mean, the new segments are things any one with basic modelling experience could whip up in minutes. After seeing the screenshots, its not worth getting in my opinion, you might as well model the same things and apply the stock textures to them.

Save yourself $10

Aren't most of those meshes already in FPSC? I guess if you cant make it in Wethams prog it may be worth it to someone with no modeling at all. To a majority on the forums seems quite the waste though.

Hmmmm... Nothing in there that blows my skirt up. I think I'll wait to see more. And yes, with the free tools available, anyone can make these and apply the same texture.

I think I'll wait and see what wizard of id has when his pack is ready. It looks like it's going to add more to a level than this would.

Best.

I might get it just to see the animated lava - on a segment?! Maybe its a shader (in which case I won't see anything ).

I don't have it yet (as said above ) but I think this might be underestimated - sure you could model it yourself, but it saves time for one. Not to mention that these give your levels more depth, much like Wizard of Id's stuff. Should be good for Doom: Evolved - if I ever get FPSC working on this stupid laptop

If you can think outside the box than this is a good pack if you just going to use it as if than you might be a little disappointed.

I checked the lava and mine not animated.

How can you think outside the box with this pack? It has a few new things, that's it, its not really worth "Thinking outside the box" and buying it, as we already have all the textures it contains... well mostly. So the only thing we are missing, are the mesh files.

I think this pack is a huge let down, from what TGC has released in the past. This is just a joke, which is not funny.

To be honest, I think they threw this together, to try and make a few extra quid... :\
