OK, y'know in most Final Fantasy games, the game does a screen blur just before a battle? Well, I tried to get an effect like that in my game. When I tried using blur bitmap 0, my FPS went from 30-something to less than 1.
Is there a faster way of bluring bitmap 0?
Thanks in advance!

maybe you could first render a low res image (by using a smaller camera view using the SET CAMERA VIEW command), then you blur that bitmap and stretch it to full-screen

maybe you could try writing your own blur command if it's still slow
