Thanks, personally I though the new one looked better - as for the human thing - well he's humanoid - hence I'm looking at the more human look...Sort of a human body with devil horns and wings - sort of like a tortured soul sort of thing - pain has brought the ugliness out of him - hence I'm going to make his face look more weathered - the muscles come from hours of hard labour - so I might add scars to his torso - probably on the back from lashings - and perhaps a chain to his ankle for slavery (I am also thinking of the bull ring on a chain as an alternative)

Yes, it's good practice and keeps a realistic flow - you'll find most high poly work has the model naked (though nothing too rude is added) and add the clothes afterwards. It's not to be naughty rude or even sexual, just for the process of modelling. I decided this would be a model I would short cut or cut out parts of.

I'll add more body detail like I did with the head once the body is complete (legs, feet arms etc. included) - I'm not going to add fat - as I've been working through this I've been thinking about final renders and 'who' exactly this character will be - he'll be a demon slave - not fed enough to get fat and spends his time carrying heavy stones to help build his evil overlord's castle - and at time of difficulty will use his strength from that and his demon features to crush any enemies attacking them. That's the basic idea behind it - hence his ribs show more - and other parts I'll end up making more bony and scarred (from warfare and floggings).


Also...

If people don't like the idea of the demon doing the Shin Chan styled 'bare butt boogie' and the human anatomy, then if a mod would be as so kind to change the title of the thread so that it says [Contains Mild Nudity]

It looks great sepp, I like it

As for a nudity warning, I'd just not, or do what Penfold said. Because you'd probably get the wrong kind of attention with a nudity disclaimer I believe we've had that happen before lol.

That happened last time - it was a female model I had made.

Fairplay...but I'm beginning to bear in mind the younger minds - but hey, there's plenty of nude statues in the name of art and pictures, so if any parents walking in will surely know that...As long as they're not dumb or one of those overly politically correct people.

Bit of both - I've not used any conventional 'front and side' references as some people use - just an array of images to focus on form, anatomy and structure.
