Hi,

I'm making my own modplayer for DarkBasic since I don't really like dbhelper (sorry), now I made one and it hides itself, however, when darkbasic executes it it gives Windows to front and stays that way.

I've turned the wait flag off but that wont help, and like I said the mod player autohides itself.

Is there an instruction I can give in Darkbasic to keep it from losing focus?

Thanks in advance!

Never mind, I found the solution. I just made the modplayer start up the darkbasic exe, then the modplayer checks for instructions sent by DarkBasic.

If anyone has questions about how I do this stuff feel free to ask them. Of course the modplayer is still BETA, so I'll have to have it tested by people.

It works fine here though.

Easy peasy.

A modplayer is a player of Amiga modules (music) for a good example of a mod player look at http://www.modplug.com/index.php3 I am currently working on a better version of the Akira MP3 Games Replayer you can download that for free on my website.

Akira can also play Mods, XM's and soon also SiDs (Commodore 64 music). The SiD replayer routine is pretty hard though, because SiD isnt really one format. Its pieces of code.

I'm just downloading some music files and a player right now... I'm very curious

it would be great if you could write some function which you can use to play such files in DB games

I would love to see a good MOD player in DB! I was even planning on giving in and writing my own, but thank goodness you've already done that. I hope it works out for you (and that you're kind enough to post your findings for public usage).

Hi peeps,

I could make a public release of the player, I wanna make it as easy as possible though, im communicating between the two by using empty text files, for example I say:

make file "1" : rem to start mod 1
make file "2" : rem to start mod 2

make file "STOP" : rem to stop the whole modplayer application

If you guys are really strung out on a good mod player I could very well release it, sure why not?

Of course you'd have to start your application by starting the mod player, hope thats not a problem, because well like I said, if I boot it up from darkbasic then the darkbasic app loses focus and that sucks.

Perhaps you people would like to beta test this to see if it works fine over there too?
