EDIT: Okay I know have 15 models. 13 entities and two segments. Tell me if you think this is now enough to sell and if so how much?

It is a great idea.
But i think its better to do the lines you made
by just using an alpha map.
That way you save polycounts and also you could make a lot better.

Sorry if it came out wrong but i ment this:

Its your picture showing what i mean.


I you put alpha's on those it would be alot of less poly.
Which will increase the framerate (even if its just a little).
And also it would look alot better simply you can make it any
shape....(the texture that is)

I was looking at the first attempt at building plans and thought "this contractor seems a little immature"
Anyways its cool but since when is caution tape shaped like that? If it's Not caution tape you'll leave me confused but try alpha mapping, just as an idea. If you want your contracting company to increase sales, train them to work with stud (supports) and pylons if you get what I'm saying.

Darimc- Not a bad start, the textures look a bit washed out. They are issing depth. What photo editing program do you use?

If you use photoshop I recommend the following tricks to help get a richer texture.

1. Use the magic wand tool and select the outside area of the UVmap, then go to select>inverse. create a new layer over the top of you original UVMap.

1a. Chose select>modify.expand and put in 2 - 8 pixels. this will ensure you do not have open edges.

2. Chose the Fill tool set the opacity to around 36% and chose your base color and fill the selected areas in.
3. Deselect the area.
4. in the new layer go to the layer options and select "satin" set it to "soft light" and then chose "pattern overlay" set it to "overlay" and set the scale to the desired texture strength, you can even hit the to layer button next to the pattern. then hit "ok"

This will give you that nice rich texture, you will have to add the shadows and highlights manually unless you use an Ambient Occlusion. Using AO for reference is not a bad idea but it is better to paint the shadows on in my opinion. you can repeat the same process by using the Marquee tool.

I have improved the texture on the construction boundaries. By adding shading it has taken an effect on making the tape on the boundary a lot less pointy. Thanks for the help.

The blockade looks very good. All the practice must be paying off. Just grunge up the texture a little and I think you're there.

They look good.

But the texture needs a little improvement.

Dirt the texture a little.

A construction yard isnt very clean.

Also just to help, the boundaries really needs alpha maps.

I would look so much better it would look higher poly even when
its less poly.

Just to help.

Oh and Roger Wilco's tutorial is for Photoshop.

Sweet, now they are much better, great job on grunging em up...

a nice well done

You should start making weapons and characters for this pack, (it might be able to sell) with a variety of new segments and entities...id buy it if it had more stuff to do with a destroyed town...

@Endless Fps Team, Thanks for the comment. And I'm thinking about making a character or 2 but no weapons. The only thing is that I can't attach the fpsc biped to the character and get it in game. So I might get someone to do that for me and they'll get the pack free. That's only IF I make a character.

P.S. I think I'm selling this pack even if it doesn't have characters in it, people seam to like it.

Sorry for that , i was just to busy with my work till i have seen LT Tatters post.
I most say your models looking very good , i specially like the blockade.
It's low poly and have a nice look. About the textures well they are not bad but maybe you can add more details ?
What i mean with details is to add more realistic look to the texture. Like using dirt or scratches.
For the rest this pack looking very good , your skill getting better and better.

And sorry again :S

PS : Like Chess Cake already said better use alpha maps for some part of your model. They can save a huge count of polys and give a better effect.

Funny, I believe OLEG said the same thing I did. That was the purpose of the two images I posted. It was to show you the difference between your texture that was thrown together and then the re-paint that was put together with very little effort.

Sorry but the worker doesnt look like a human.

You should check some reference images.

And as for the texture, maybe some buttons on his shirt.
Also some pockets on his pants and shirt.

Darimc- I'm not mad at all, a bit aggitated but not mad, I'll get over it. The human model that you created does need a bit of work but it's a very good start. One thing that may be usefull for you when texturing is the ability to break you rmodel up in to seperate UVmaps. I have just started using this method and am finding it alot easier to manage detail. I am not sure if the program that you are using supports combining UVmaps, if it does it is somethign to look in to.
